OMG...that is so crazy. Hope they have sent it to the proper office now.

my e-cas was working fine around 1 hour back but now it shows this message....strange

"This form is incomplete. Please provide the necessary information below, then send your request again.

1.Immigration File Number should be in this format: B000000000.
"

It has happened earlier also with me and i could login after sometimes....lets see what happens this time

May be they are working on my file....or to be precise they may be issuing visa ;) ;)

Could very well be. Delhi has had your file for 57 days now since AOR and 50-90 is when
Delhi finishes 60% of the applications.

Mine is at 52 days now :D

DrDave

F for family
B for business - or the economic category

Make sense since these would have different procedures for processing files.

DrDave

Nope, not the case. I am 100% sure.
So many ppl in here have had B and they are family class.
One example i can quote here is Brin, she has B and she applied for family spouse sponsorship.

Well..B is sure for brin... :) but I have an 'F' number...that's why I said ECAS keeps saying I need a B number to log in..
That said...I know a lot of people in the forum have a B number for family class...I think Nylalisa mentioned that she had a 'B' number
everywhere in her husband's correspondence...
I'm reading diff stories abt the 'B' number and 'F' number...some say it's just a sequence...some say 'F' files are referred to a specific IO and 'B' files are general ones...not sure what the truth behind these numbers are..would be nice to know what it indicates to see where you stand!!! :)

A file number is a very important identifier and they should have some terminology behind that...and it should be a standard practice by visa office or for all visa offices as these numbers are unique.
no idea, how we can not figure it out..family, business makes sense from a wording perspective but that does not seem to be the case.

@mewe

I am hopeful that if they have sent ur file to ND finally...then they will definately process it faster as they give priority to files as per the date of application submission

Wish you luck and speedy visa..........

@ meateater
That should do... and we can get DrDave to an analysis on this ;)

Me two - 'F'

There is a thread about this too....

So I'm a bit confused about who gets the PPR and other letters from ND. If I'm the sponsor and the respresentative, will it come to me in Canada or will it go to my wife in India as the applicant?

I was under the impression that it goes to the applicant in India regardless...but then some posts from yesterday suggested otherwise. So I'm confued now - is this another randomness of ND or is there something definitive?

Are there members of this forum that are also their spouse's representatives that can comment on this?

If you have a representative acting on your behalf, then your correspondence goes to them. So some people who have lawyers, their lawyers will get the PPR and all other request. I have been in contact with another member that it happened that way as well.

Also, for the member who said they sent a CSE to ND as the sponsor, don't be surprised if you dont hear from them, or you get a generic privacy statement back from them. Unfortunately, unless you are your spouses representative, ND is legally not allowed to tell you anything anymore (stupid I think). Due to privacy laws even as the sponsor you are pretty much cut out of this process after the initial CPC-M approval.

@avibis,
here is a post from the expert.
