ND IS CRAP. I mean, ya Im a lucky one there but honestly, it is luck with this
office. What they do there and how they do it doesnt make sense. They hide behind
this statement of difficulty for cases just so their screw ups are hid. There is
no reason why FPrince shouldnt at least have a PPR. And not to be rude but for
new members whose files were just transferred within a month or so, sit back and
relax.
Your wait hasn't been that long, you havent felt the stress of not receiving PPR
or a visa while ppl after you breeze ryt through the whole thing or have to suffer
an interview because luck of the draw your name was picked.
So relax, enjoy the ride. Heres hoping a new minister will clean things up.
I agree with nylalisa. The process is stressful and doesn't make sense at times.
Luck may play a part in some cases, but this is the minority. There is a process
that is followed. It is not random as you may suggest. Delhi does make mistakes
that result in delays, but so do us. ie missing forms and signatures. The vast
majority of the cases, 60%-80% are done in 3-4 months.
I was recommended to hire a lawyer by one person who's case was complicated
by the fact the VO did make a mistake and the embassy tried to cover it up.
Eventually a lawyer was hired to get things moving again and the case was
transferred to an inland case. For punshment, the VO was transferred to
Afganistan. Of course he decided to quit rather then accept the transfer.
This happened in Thailand, I do believe. Again this is in the minority.
After talking to a few other people, who said a lawyer was not needed.
I decided not to hire a lawyer. I was being cheap.
The security checks and the interviews are all part of the process.
I find it funny that I can get a visa to India in one week where
my Sri Lankan friend has to wait one month and a completely
trustworthy friend. I can only imagine how long it will take for
Pakistani Canadian to get a visitors visa to India.
@ Everybody - Remember to take the process seriously. We have to prove
beyond a reasonalble doubt that the marriage is genuine and that Delhi trains
the visa officers to be suspicious. Look at nb8285 his case was done
very quickly but he made the job of the VO very easy. He typed everything
up so its easy to read and organized his supporting documents into different
categories into folders. His processing was 2 months.
My marriage was fairly quick, so Delhi may be assuming my marriage is a
marriage of convience. Thus I am assuming they will call my wife for an
interview, so for the last month or so I have been drilling my wife practice
questions. She's the nervous one in the relationship. Thanks nylalisa
for posting your interview questions. I've added a few to the list as
well. Even with the delay of an interview, I hope we will be done in 4 months
which pretty much normal for Delhi. See nylalisa case. Hopefully, I sent
enough documents to convince the VO an interview is not needed - 100 pages
plus 150 photos. Remember, the VO is trained to be suspicious and who knows it
could be mandatory to interview x number of spouses.
Let's hope everybody has a speedy process. The reality is not everybody does,
so when problems are identified they get rectified. Just look at the telecom
scandel in India. Things may seem a bit slow and will take 200 years to fix
but this is short compared to the long history of India which runs into
thousands of years. Its too bad that we only live a 100.
My process - after getting married and coming back from a one month honeymoon.
- Aug 28 return.
- spent 5 months preparing all the documents and getting corrections to some
of her identity documents - wrong spelling and dates
- file Jan 26 - oh what a relief that was - sounds like a commercial.
- one month is Mississauga
- now 52 days in Delhi - so hopefully things will be done in 50-90 days.
If not I'll have to do a background on my wife when she comes. What the
the hell, I'll be doing my own background check once she get to the
bedroom anyway. I'll make it a mandatory inspection.
Remember to take luck out of the equation and pratice due diligence.
The rest we will assign to karma.
