Question: Do Canadians need a visa to visit Ghana, and if so how can I apply for a visitors visa?

Yes you do! Go to Google and type Ghana high commission in Ottawa then go to the page to print the visa application. You have to fill out and make 3 photocopy so you going to have 4 copy including the original. You need an invitation letter if you were not born in Ghana plus 1 piece of national ID from the person inviting you from Ghana. You need your flight ticket plus $65 bank draft payable to Ghana high commission. You also need 4 passport photo. Once you finish put everything in an envelop including you Canadian passport but don't forget to put a small registered envelop with the return address on it so they will issue the visa and return it to you.

For a single entry visa, unfortunately the price has gone up to $100. Make sure you follow all the instructions very closely, they are quite particular and you don't want delays. Also, the last few visas I've applied for they have called me for the littlest things. Make sure you keep your phone on and watch out for a 613 area code number. It's probably them. Good luck!

Hey! I would try and get an express if you can, ($150) it can still take at least a week to process, from the time they receive it to the time they send it back to you. Where in Canada are you? You will definitely need a Yellow Fever vaccination. As for the AVO interview letter, I'm not entirely sure. You could call them the High Commission office in Ottawa and ask, or get in contact with a hotel in Accra and get them to write an invitation letter for you. If you need recommendations of a place, etc, private message me and I can give you some suggestions. Good luck!

balasana89, what city are you in? Normally you can drop it off in person at your Consular general and it takes about 4-5 business days. In Toronto it's at yonge and sheppard. Vancouver also has one.

Fill every spot requested. Sadly, they don't cross reference the info for the addresses and phone numbers in Ghana. so for secondary person in Ghana who can vouch for you etc, if you you get the right number of digits in the phone number, the area code is a ghanaian one, and make up the addresses, they don't seem to care. Sad, but true.

Or she can get her husband to write her a simple letter stating, that he wants her to accompany him to the interview.

Yes the interview letter plus a letter from you stating that you going there for your husband's interview is everything you need. Please make sure you filled out the new visa application form. I really feel for you doing all these things at the same time. I wish you and your husband a very best of luck during the interview.

Yeah it's so expensive and they only just last year introduced a two year multiple entry visa. Right when I'm winding down my visits! Haha

My issue is this, on the background declaration where it says have you been denied visa before. I thicked no on the part and I have been refused a student visa to canada many years back. Please have you come across anyone with this situation. I thought it was about refugee.

Hi there stamina007, if I were you I would notify CIC right away of the mistake. Maybe others on here can weigh inon the matter, but you don't want to get caught for misrepresentation.
