Bbc if it were me Id file for the appeal in case and the gcms notes..you can always cancel the appeal later on as it takes 120 days for your blue book alone to come which is what you need to appeal...what we did was this...we got refused in April that year..filed the appeal...changed our mind in july and cancelled the appeal...it doesnt cost anything to file the appeal...then id contact the mp to see if this is just about the missed deadline only..then decide which way to go...

Nemiah adding to my above post...we were refused in 2014...we reapplied because at that time canada changed the dep child age to 22 from 19...my stepson was not listed as accompany on the first app...so we knew with this age rule...he would age out during the appeal process which we were tokd would take 1.5 years if we won our case...ironically here we are just now finally getting pr 3 years later but at least my stepson can come...keep in mind those 3 years added a ton more proof to our app...filing for the appeal now will buy you time..
And your gcms will show full reason for refusal...try to get your mp involved to see the full reason

Hi guys!

How long does it usually take for Accra to send pick up email once they receive your passport? They got my husband's passport on March 8th, and we have not heard from them yet.

Thank you!
Hello my own takes 3 weeks, I pray you gonna hear from them soon..

Congratulations bro.. You gonna hear from them soon

Thank you!

I just checked the account and it changed to "decision made" this morning. Hopefully that means we will hear from them very soon.

Timosky, sincerely you make sense mostly in what you say here but the way you put up your statements, is the reason people attack you which you have to understand.i can imagine what you will have said about immigration if they had refused or delayed you,That's why some members get upset when you make statements to defend immigration just because you got approved.its naturally with humans but generally speaking, before you apply, you know the whole processing time and if your application hasn't exceeded that time frame, there isn't any point attacking Visa officers,we just have to thank God for the new processing time, its good now they have reduced the processing to 12 months. honestly speaking the process is not easy at all.being away from love ones for over a year, its not like its a visa to heaven that we need to wait for soo long to get it.i think everything will be good once immigration clear out the whole backlog and the newly applied applicates will enjoy the new process set out by the new Government. We should always remember,In all things we should still give thanks to him

The process was NOT easy or quick for us. We applied March 2015.
I will not 100% blame Accra for this wait of more than 2 years, but i do partially blame them. About 8 months of this delay was due to the RCMP taking their sweet time releasing my husband's police report.

But in dealing with Accra, we had experienced a lot of frustration as well. Additional proof of genuine marriage requested,no replies to correspondence, them saying they have sent us requests for documents that we never received, a long wait to hear from them again once we redid medicals. I don't understand why IF we pay the same fees as any other countries we must suffer a longer wait.

Yes, i understand that Accra VO deals with applications from more than one country. More applicants=more fees being paid to them. Hire extra staff to deal with the workload in a timely manner. Just because we finally got PPR, i cannot tell anyone that they are not right to complain.

Being away from your spouse and having your life in the hands of people for whom this is nothing but a job and feeling like they don't care is hard.

We got PPR March 3rd. I hope you won't have to wait the 30 days. The last thing they asked of us before PPR was to re-do medicals after already having asked for other documents a few months before that. We did the re-medical in December before Christmas and were expecting a quicker response but we have not heard from them until March.

Oh well. Thankfully it's over for us. I look forward to everyone's good news in this forum.

I agree, it doesn't hurt to start the appeal since they won't know the real reason until 30 days anyway. You don't want to miss the appeal window either.
