yes they do @ola22. They need an initial one, but when it's time for PPR if you get a medical form for the non-accompanying dependant, you can ask AVO to waive it.

I wouldn't answer that "survey" if I were you @tbnb. There's a lot of immigration phishing stuff out there. It won't affect your application if it is indeed legit from CIC and you ignore it.

yes, social media can bring one down. you are only as secure as your most insecure friend's settings. I suggest people put security settings in place where no one can tag them, check them in or post on their page without you approving it first.

@Kwamtin, my hubby did his Ghana one 16 months before we got PPR (avo had it for 14) and we weren't asked to redo the Ghana PCC. So, i believe if you don't go to Ghana before you get PPR, you'll be fine.

@Lagos babe Mississauga can take action by directing AVO to do an interview. It depends on the hidden notes they put in the code when then send the file to the visa office. e.g. if they say "not started" for background or eligibility and some other fields, it means they did a preliminary check...

@SYOM if it's not invalid (i.e. some countries say 6 months, others say 1 year). Also, if it is for a country where you haven't visited nor lived in since you obtained it, you should be able to resubmit it.

I agree with @iyawoSparks , @Stellalawrence. We got PPR then pre-arrival services email a day or two later. Some people got pre-arrival then almost a week later, PPR.

hello house, I'm pleased to report that the hubby landed yesterday. They didn't ask him any questions except to congratulate him. The immigration line was busy though..took about 1.5 hours. I'm going to fill out the online survey for sure as reading today's comments it seems the timeline...

@Johnny just come you need email the minister of immigration and tell them that they are not keeping their promise of finishing applications received prior to dec 2016 by the end of last year. Ask how it's possible that background isn't started and it's been almost 16 months. Minister@cic.gc.ca...
