I think you'll be fine. Just maintain a similar log going forward in case you're required to provide additional evidence or during an interview. I was in the same boat - long distance relationship; not a lot of photos before wedding. However, a consultant I spoke with wanted a minimum of 30 pictures per wedding ceremony showing lots of people who attended. It's too bad we have to go to extreme lengths to justify a genuine relationship because some people have abused the system. Good luck.
Thank you so much again. By the way singhjag, is ur spousal visa already approved? How many months have u waited?

Everything starting from call logs since beginning (I used rebtel, ttag, primus ); email conversations, FB message log, skype log.

Around 300 pictures of my wedding, reception, engagement, post wedding (honeymoon, dinner, lunch everything outside home) following original wedding card & reception card, FB wedding invitation screenshot, congrats cards from my colleagues/friends. Honeymoon pictures, hotel booking emails, hotel receipts, plane tickets including boarding cards.

Original Marriage certificate and notarized engagement deed plus plane tickets including boarding cards for both my engagement and wedding (so don't loose them). I even send them my luggage tags too ..lol .. The thing I still have my luggage tag when I first came in Canada as a student so :) be detail as you never know.

lastly opened a joint bank account back there and provided sufficient fund until my next visit so those documents including cheque book copy. Also a confirmed plane ticket that I will be visiting her again in 6 months for 3 weeks.

That's basically it, I think.
Thanks a bunch!

No, I wish. I applied in Feb/March 2014 and so far have received AOR/SA and now the application is in the visa office for review.

Wow what a bunch of great information!! This answers lots of my questions about the process. What if we already have children? Will this be good indicators that our union is legitimate?

Hi guys, hope all is well. I have a question please. I am sponsoring my husband so we can live in Montreal. I am already there and I hope he will get his PR very soon because it's hard to be apart like this. I was wondering if he could come to Montreal as a tourist and wait for his PR here. As a tourist he is allowed to stay up to 6 months. Any answer is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the update. If you don't mind answering, did they identify a reason for your interview? I'm also applying through Pretoria.

Hi,

I have a question about question 1 on form IMM5490 - Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionaire, I'm about to sponsor my wife from Dubai (originally she's from Philippines, she just work in Dubai). My wife and I met when we're both in high school and it was 13 years ago way back in Philippines. We lost contact when my family and I migrated to Canada. After 10 years, we met again and did the long distance relationship for 3 years and now we're married. So now my question, should we put the date that we first met in high school or should we put the date that we first started dating again which is 3 years ago?

My gut feeling is leaning toward the date we first started dating 3 years ago because we really don't have any evidence or proof that we know each other 13 years ago except her parents and siblings. Anyways, we're just confuse which date to put and we just want to answer the question truthfully and honest. Anyways, if you can help us out, much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The reason mainly why they ask for a interview is because either they think your relation is not 100% genuine or in my case my husband was requested a interview because they wanted acknowledgement that he knew of my medical history and also they go thru each and every documentation you provide them to make sure what they see is legitimate . So there was a few concerns that the immigration officer needed clarified. So to answer your question not all interview are negative, some can be straight forward and have nothing to do with having doubts if your relationship is genuine or not. Just sometimes certain things they gather on their own doesn't look 100% and that is why a interview is requested. It's always better when the interview is waived! Hope this helps answers your question.

im my opinion you should put the date 13 years ago because that's when you met the first time - doesn't matter that you didn't start dating back then. i guess you should also tell them that you lost contact too. better to mention everything than lie or "not mention" certain things.

I agree with CutiePie92 above. Plus if you went to the same high school, you likely have evidence that you went to the same school and if not, lived in the same vicinity (address area). Just say the truth about when you met and when you actually started dating.

Where is your husband now?
Assuming he is not in Canada right now and does not have a tourist visa already --> there is a low likelihood of getting a tourist visa for two reasons 1) Immigration will likely say that he will permanently settle and not return to home country in case the PR application is not approved 2) When the passport is requested, he would need to be in the home country.

If he already has a tourist visa and is in Montreal, you could apply for PR and seek extension of your visa until PR is received.

A number of factors go into this and I'm sure there are veterans on this forum with more insight than what I've provided above.
