Congrats! 1) Take it to VFS location - safer and generally a good method. 2) I've heard that they give you time until your medical expires to leave India. In most cases, people leave within days or a week or two after receiving visa.

Yup. For me Sponsor UCI or the File # did not work. However, file # worked using applicant credentials. Something must be up with the system.

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

You will get a confirmation letter and/or email from CIC which will include a UCI number which can be used to check status online. The receipt number you have will not work.

In your cover letter re: receipt, just mention that you've submitted PCC with the application. If you have a photocopy of original, you can enclose it as reference.

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

I'm in the boat and based on the complexity, I'm not applying for a visitor visa and just planning to visit my spouse in India about two times. I don't know what the process is if your state situation arises but my gut feel would be to avoid such scenarios in an effort to minimize delays in PR...

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

It doesn't hurt to try to apply for the visa. In order to be successful you have to demonstrate "Dual intent" i.e. that your wife will visit you however she will leave by the provided date. The show this, she needs to have enough reasons to go back. For instance, employment, immediate family...

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

If you've already submitted the application, I would wait until it's reviewed by CIC. Only of they ask you to fill an updated form, then submit it.

    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

They are fairly quick with updating the address and it shouldn't cause delays. I would make the change as you don't want your mail getting lost.

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

I don't think there should be an issue then. Based on the timeline we're seeing, passport is not going to be requested for a while anyway. Might as well make the most of the time.

    NEW DELHI - 2014 APPLICANTS

I'm not an expert for the answer but here's my thought. I think your wife can go to Pakistan until her passport request is received. At that point she can return back to India and wait until PR is processed. To be safe, I would email NDVO to get an official confirmation because I'm assuming...

You likely won't get a response and they claim that you wouldn't given volume of applications. For passport, no idea. Some of the members here with Applications submitted in Nov/Dec haven't been asked for their passports yet. The waiting game begins :)
