The experts here will have a better answer than me.
In CIC, it says now the processing time for Singapore is 30 months. That doesn't mean it will take that long, from what I have seen in this forum including myself if they are satisfied with all the documents hopefully it will be done by a bit more or less than 1 year.
Since you already got your CSQ that means the Sponsorship approval is done. At this point there is nothing to do more on your end except waiting and now your status will be "Application Received". After the Singapore office opens your file/actually start working on your file (God knows when) the status will become "In Process". This part usually takes the time in most cases. Then if they are satisfied then PPR will come and following that later the status will be "Decision made" and that's the time when you can expect to get your passport back in 2/3 weeks with Visa.

Hope this answers your questions. I am also from Montreal and sponsored my wife from BD.

Wish you all the best.

Someone help..

Hello. I have a few questions about the application process. I am a Canadian citizen married to a European (I will not say where but, his closest visa office is in London, UK) we left Canada and I came with him here in December 18 2013. Because his visa ran up and other reasons that were personal. We are gathering things and such for our application but I have questions that really need to be answered:

1. Bank statements. As the sponsor.. I don't know how I can provide this because before I left I shut down my TD bank account. My reasoning was I had no money left since I changed it to euros, I don't like TD, and my husband and I already have a joint account with BMO bank (which has nothing in it right now since we left) i have my option C letter from the previous tax year.. How can I provide this information? I did a few digging and some users suggest we use information about our joint account, like proof that we set it up under our names? My husband thinks we should write a letter.. Explaining why I can't account for the bank statements. Please help what do I do?

2. Proof of returning back to Canada. This only proof I can think of is my plane ticket (returning back in June of 2014 this year) and before I left, I wanted to renew my health card because it was set to expire the month after we left Canada. The woman gave me a sheet of paper pretty much proving when I have to be back in Canada which is December 2014.. Is this enough? I'm also going to be living with my family/mom when I return get work and save up. I'm not a student but will be doing a few classes so I can eventually go to post secondary.

3. We are adding a lot of pictures of ourselves such as wedding, wedding after party, travels, pictures with my family mom, sister, friends, etc. We can't date all of them, is that okay? I also have text messages of us being goofy, sappy and lovey dovey. They span into a year and I can't get everything because my blackberry fell in the water almost 6 months ago :(. The texts show us talking about anything from cooking dinners, him contacting me when he travelled, talking about our future, our marriage, all that stuff and more. I also have skype pictures of us skyping whenever he was away. Cards that people sent us for our wedding. Also his sister travelled all the way with her fiancé 3000 miles to be in our wedding! We have pictures to prove it. Is this enough or should we do more?

1. Where does it ask you for bank statements? I don't believe that you need to provide any bank statements at all. I didn't.

2. Use what you have but also get your mom to write you a letter offering her residence and saying when they will expect you. If you are accepted into post secondary to start in a specific semester then provide that letter. An offer of employment is good too if you can get one.

3. If you don't know the date the picture was taken just write an approxamet date. Write a note explaining why your record of texts only goes back 6 months. Print off screenshots of your skype call history as far back as it will let you go. Sounds like you have enough stuff.

You don't have to "do" anything with option C printout except include it in your application. Option C printout will show CIC whether or not you collected welfare last year.

I'm not sure on the last one....someone else can take a shot at that.

May I ask what documents did you provide as genuine relationship proof? I've applied this March.

Thank you.

Thank you.
Everything starting from call logs since beginning (I used rebtel, ttag, primus ); email conversations, FB message log, skype log.

Around 300 pictures of my wedding, reception, engagement, post wedding (honeymoon, dinner, lunch everything outside home) following original wedding card & reception card, FB wedding invitation screenshot, congrats cards from my colleagues/friends. Honeymoon pictures, hotel booking emails, hotel receipts, plane tickets including boarding cards.

Original Marriage certificate and notarized engagement deed plus plane tickets including boarding cards for both my engagement and wedding (so don't loose them). I even send them my luggage tags too ..lol .. The thing I still have my luggage tag when I first came in Canada as a student so :) be detail as you never know.

lastly opened a joint bank account back there and provided sufficient fund until my next visit so those documents including cheque book copy. Also a confirmed plane ticket that I will be visiting her again in 6 months for 3 weeks.

That's basically it, I think.

HI Friends,
I am so scared , plz help me.
I do have a question. I got marry in dec 2012 and sponsored my husband in starting 2013 but for some reasons we got separate and I withdraw file within one month and I got my money back too. We both had issues bcz of parents. Our parents are from back old style mentality, they wanted him to get pr on his own basis means mpnp manitoba. But then we start living together after resolving everything after 3 months. Now when he is ready for mpnp, then they are saying I have to sponsor him bcz he already has spouse in Canada. So I would like to know how to deal with these things. If I would sponsor him in may again, there would be any issues or not. I want him to work in Canada as his visa is expiring in June 2014 and he is the only one who earns. I want him to stay here with me. Plz I need some suggestions. No one Visa counselor suggesting anything. Plz help.
Thanks :(

Working on applications received on March 12, 2014

Your file is probably not even opened up yet. Wait at least a full month before expecting to hear anything from CIC.

Hi there! May I ask what are the chances of getting approved visa if you married your spouse 9 months after you officially were in a relationship? Does it have a bearing when did you start your relationship? Thanks

Are you talking about a visitor visa or a permanent residency sponsorship?

I'm assuming PR Sponsorship. It doesn't matter how long your relationship was as long as you have evidence showcasing that your relationship is genuine i.e. can you demonstrate via phone bills, photographs, emails, visits, gifts that you had have been in a relationship for that long? How did you meet / how did you propose / what your ceremonies were. You'll need this neciely documented for your application.
