Application almost ready to go. A few final questions...

1) My son is Canadian. He only goes on Additional Family Form 5406...correct?
Sponsor questionnaire 5440 question 15. Do you have any children? Is he included here?

2) Sponsorship Evaluation...number 5...current undertaking. My wife and son so the answer is 2.
Just wondering because my son is Canadian.
Page 2 remains blank?

3) Medical Exam... My son doesn't go for a medical?
We can do the medical now and include with the apps?
We can choose any doctor off the Philippines list?

Thanks in advance for reply:)

Hey there guys, I just had a few questions regarding how I should go about sponsoring my wife who I just married, I read a bunch myself about the spousal sponsorship, and what it requires and all the information they are asking for from both parties, but I am looking to actually start the process and begin filing and get everything underway now that we have officially gotten married. I am a Canadian citizen born and raised in Canada.

I looked at the payment options it is asking me to pay and file, and I am receiving 3 options currently that I am not sure if I need to pay all 3 or which I need to actually pay. If anyone could let me know which ones I need to pay out of these options and why I would appreciate it very much!

Options:

1: Principal Applicant (including 75$ for sponsorship)
2: Spouse, common-law, or conjugal partner
3: Right of permanent residence fee

I feel almost certain that I understand this and that I would need to pay all 3 fees, but some second opinions never hurt.
Thanks!

There is no income requirement to sponsor you - however she cannot be receiving social assistance / welfare.

hi all

My brother has applied for family class sponsorship from Pakistan. His wife is Canadian resident. Any idea about the overall processing time. He submitted his application in June 2015.

Maguita, it's always hard to get your foot in the door without nepotism on your side. I can assure you many Canadian Engineers have trouble getting work in their field. Some engineering fields are more in demand than others. Sometimes you need to think outside the box.

If you aren't getting interviews, get someone (an engineering forum? engineering reddit?) to check out your resume! This is so overlooked it's not even funny.

Here's some posts that may help:

Redflagdeals is a decent Canadian forum for getting a feel for employment opportunities, and to ask questions and commiserate.

It's not easy for anyone these days, it's really not just immigrants.

Hi Aquakitty,

Thank you for the information I surely will look at every of these pages.

I am taking already some courses in Employment companies in Canada.
I am Working as a volunteer in different areas also in the Panam Games because without Canadian Experience the doors will close in your face.
I am part of different Professional organizations and Engineers groups assisting to events and conference.
My profession is thankfully not a Regulated Profession in Canada, otherwise I will have a BIG ISSUE.

What I am trying to say is that all this process is a headache, complicated, expensive and uncertain.
Time pass and pass, a lot of bills has to be payed and savings are arriving to an End.

If I knew the things were going to be very difficult I will do different movements.. I think if people knows the true they can be ready for it. That's all.

Check out the New Delhi thread and have a look at the spreadsheet, that'll give you a hint about wait times. I wouldn't get too worked up, a month is almost nothing

It is 16 months after NDVO receives the application. However, 16 months is not an average. It's the amount of time to do 80% of applications, which means 79% of applications are processed faster. The wording is poor on the CIC website but times are almost always shorter than what is listed there.
My Sponsorship Application was filed in April 2014 and was sent to London office in May 2014. She is in Pakistan can someone tell me aproximate procesing time as it showed 11 months for London in May 2014 which is now showing 28 months. Thank you

Try the Pakistan/London thread. You'll get the best information there on current processing times.

Dear All,

I would like to ask for a help. My mom applied as a refugee on 2008 but it was denied but stayed. She got married and applied for permanent residence visa through spousal sponsorship. She was "deported" in Canada on June 2013. She went home unescorted and paid for her own plane ticket.

now, the immigration sent us this:

Re: Your request for authorization to return to Canada
According to paragraph 52 (1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, any person deported from Canada cannot return without authorization.
In order to request this authorization, you must complete the attached application form and provide the following:
• a photocopy of the identification pages of your passport
• two identical passport-size photos (scanned or photocopies photos not accepted)
• all documentation related to your deportation
• a letter explaining the circumstances which led to your deportation and the reasons for which you now wish to be admitted to Canada
• processing fee of $400 CAD per person.

• The processing fee is not refundable, even if the application is refused. Please find attached our instructions for fee payment.
If an interview is necessary, you will be informed.
The decision to grant an authorization to return to Canada is made only following an evaluation of all the factors related to the deportation and the actual situation of the applicant. At this point, we cannot guarantee that your application will be accepted. A deportation order is issued only when a person has made a serious violation of the Immigration Act.
In the case where a person has been deported by reason of criminal inadmissibility, the applicant must, except in exceptional circumstances, prove that he has been rehabilitated and is no longer inadmissible. If the crimes were committed in Canada, he must demonstrate that he has obtained a pardon from Canadian judicial authorities. This pardon, or rehabilitation, does not constitute a guarantee that an Authorization to Return will be issued.
The information, document(s) and fees we have requested must be submitted to our office within thirty (30) days from the date of this letter. Failure to provide the information, documents and fees within the time indicated will result in the refusal of your application.

As we read the email sent to us by the immigration, the is no attached application form. I also tried to look one in Canadian Immigration website but failed. Can you please help or advise what should my mom do? We also sent email to canada immigration telling them that they might have missed out to attach the application form. I hope someone can help me regarding this.
