Hi guys I am a Feb applicant and I just check mycic and the background check went from not started to in progress. So just wondering any idea how long does background check take?

Well thing is CIC forwards background checks to CSIS. If you travelled many countries then obviously it might take a bit longer, but if you only stayed in Pakistan then it shouldn't take too long. 4-6 weeks usually.

My friends case processing started at nov 12 2015. His online status was showing that we started processing and medical received. Now there is another option is there decision made and when you click it it shows the same comments.
What does it mean ?? Is decision made?? Are they going to get ppR???

I am filling the questionnaire and I need help in understanding the first two questions. They are:
- First contact (Did you have any contact with your sponsor before you met? if yes, then how did you first contact? (email, phone, letter etc.?))
- First meeting? (and this part has questions asking if we exchanged gifts and details of the meeting)

The scenario is that I know my fiancee for more than four years now since we were in the university together. But we were not in a relationship all this time. So what do I say in the first meeting? Is this the first date? and same for the first contact? is it first contact after becoming official or what?
Can someone please shed some light on this.

i think you can say u first contact was 4 years ago in university... and you can go on to say that you guys remained in touch after that and were friends (if you were),,, you gradually developed feelings for one another all those years and that materialized into a marriage.. (if that was the case)
First meeting would probably be pertaining to the formal one you guys had for the baat pakki or rishta scene...

First met mean first meeting
in university , introduced by friends..........then carry on from there to baat pakki, i guess
use separate sheet for this

Hey flx2015.. So I contacted the MP today.. She said that everything has been completed now the medical, background has been completed.. They are just waiting for my docs sent to show them my residency in Canada which I've already sent but its sitting in their mail room... Just curious I see mentioned some email in which they say they might refuse the application and I did receive that towards my residency and I sent them my employment letter and bank letter as proof along with a pay stub, so is that enough or should I be worried... P.S the immigration officer said that he needs to make a final decision within 30 days.... Please guide if anything...
