Hi everyone - I've been lurking for some time and finally have a reason to speak up...

I'm an inland applicant, US citizen on a PGWP and my Canadian spouse is sponsoring me (Received by CIC on October 19th, AOR Nov 18th and 28th). I submitted my OWP with my application.

My current PGWP expires January 15th. I'm currently working in a NAFTA professional occupation (librarian) on a term-limited contract that ends January 31st. I applied for a permanent job from the same employer and have received an offer with a start date of February 1st.

Any recommendations for how I should proceed? If I wait for the OWP, I will be cutting it close, and will have to stop working on the 15th when my permit expires. In this scenario I am not concerned with the money, as we're stockpiled for emergencies and my spouse is gainfully employed. I am concerned with potentially losing status in the event that my OWP does not arrive before Feb 1 (looking likely based on the processing times). If I do this, the burden of my reentry rests on implied status which does not seem like a good idea.

I'm thinking I drive down to the border a week before my PGWP expires, get the NAFTA visa, and then update my status again as the OWP arrives? Thoughts? I am familiar with dual intent and the consequences of leaving with an inland application. Would doing this compromise my OWP at all?

Yeah. We rotate christmas eve -> noon christmas day and noon christmas day -> boxing day every year. This year, he is with us for christmas day and boxing day (and that'd be Mrs Profiler's birthday... so it works out well )

How was your trip, besides warm and relatively wi-fi free?

Hi Profiler:

I got a new GCMS note today. It says the file beings to SPR group (not sure what that means). It says in progress-SPR.
Security and criminality in progress it says. They have 19 activities but activity 16 says biographic submit delayed.


Now where should I look for the pertinent information to get an idea of what actually is going on?

Also, I have some questions regarding my new GCMS notes:

It says two incoming correspondence by Montreal call centre:

IMHO ALWAYS send RPRF upfront. No. Matter. What.

If they want to change RPRF, they can, but those who didn't pay now are subject to different fees. So of you can, always, always, always, always, always, etc pay this fee. If money is an issue, the ya ditch it, but be aware, it can change!

Meds: nope. That ship sailed. Sorry. You now wait until they ask. Reports are coming in that panel physicians are now refusing until they have a CIC request.

I guess my hubby and I will have to be patient then as we did not pay the RPRF upfront..Dang! Too close to Christmas.. I think the fees are 490, right? Not quite sure about the medical.. Gotta look it up.
Anyhow, we just got our second AOR, tried to enter it in the spreadsheet, alas it did not work. As you mentioned before no info yet on ECAS as it has not been processed. And yes, our number has an F. i was about to ask, but you answered it already..
Profiler, thanks for all your help and wishing you much better weather. We were in a deep freeze but finally are up to 2 C. yay!

First you gotta be clear which UCI you put in. Apparently according to the guy who we spoke to yesterday, the sponsor and the main applicant have two separate UCI #s. The UCI for sponsor as in our case is the old UCI my wife (the sponsor) had when she first immigrated to Canada. We have tried to check on ECAS by using both numbers and were able to see both status separately. If you use the sponsor's UCI number you can see it is showing that they have recieved your application to SPONSOR. If you use the main applicant's UCI number you see it is showing as they have received your application. However, we were only successful in linking the main applicant's PR application using my UCI #. So I think you should be careful which UCI number you used.

We have just tried the following:

Permanent residence --> Family Class (Spouses) -->Unique Client Identifier (UCI) and Family Name --> Enter the main applicant's UCI number --> main applicant's family name --> City of birth --> country/territory of birth --> Passport info --> Province intend to live --> City/Town/Village --> Current marital status --> number of family members (this one is a bit tricky you need to be careful, we put 2 since me and my wife we only had 2 people in our family, I guess it need to consistent with the number on your application but I am not sure which number it is suppose to match)

Also some people in this forum said that you may be able to leave some of the above information blank such City of birth etc.. We did not follow that instruction and was successful the first time we tried. But you may also want to try that if you still couldn't link it. You will find your application number starting with an F following 9 digits if you are able to link it. At least that is what happened in our case. Good luck!

Ok, that explains a few things to me. I am a sponsor but immigrated myself way back in 1985, am now a Canadian Citizen. I was utterly surprised when they addressed me by my old name in our AOR.. I was puzzled and quite a bit concerned. They must have looked me up under my UCI , hence the old name.. So it must be the same case for me..
If it's not please could someone let me know if i have to call them?

You're less than a month in (or so). There will literally be no notes yet.

I am able to access ECAS and it said they are processing my husband. If it wouldn't have been for this forum, i would not have known what I did wrong. Since I was an immigrant myself a loooong time ago, it was my UCI that was given, not my husband's.. hence my old name too. Coz that's the one I obviously had in 1985... Gotta say thank you to all of you!!
