I have left and returned multiple times while my application has been in process on while on a multiple entry TRV and have entered at YVR, YYC, YUL, and YYZ without any problems. I currently have a study permit, but the same rules apply to a visitor. At the border, one of the things CBSA is trying to assess whether or not you intend to abide by the conditions of your visa, which means leaving the country before you overstay. I seem to be the only voice on here advocating travel while the application is in process, so please take this advice with a grain of salt as profiler says. In my opinion, I think it is wrong to assume that you are effectively trapped in Canada while the process is ongoing and would not take it as a reason to miss whatever obligation you have to attend to back home.smavg said:Hi Profiler,
Thanks for getting back!
I am applying as a spouse. We are married for about 15 months now, so I submitted proof of living together for the past year and everything.
I don't have my OWP as of yet, and don't think I will get it until end of February (looking at the timeline). I only have AOR.
Noted on that I shouldn't leave while application is in process. I just happen to get unlucky and need to come back home for a bit... :s
Look up 'dual intent' to brief yourself on what they are looking for when you cross the border back in to Canada.
