You spoke to an immigration lawyer on Good Friday.. Uh huh

You can plead your case all you want here, it will do you no good.

You have been told multiple times that you will need a lawyer. Reality is you had your PR less than 2 months before she left you.

CIC has kept parents away from their children for 3 more years. I strongly believe you were not abused, will not qualify and they will invoke the condition on your PR. Hire a lawyer, but prepare to have your PR revoked
None of us are lawyers (unless specified) and none of us work for CIC (again, unless specified). So I think all anyone can do is give advice if they have been in a similar situation and suggest you speak to a lawyer, which you said you have.

Becki567, I really think your rudeness is unnecessary. Getting permanent residence and going through the whole process is stressful enough without someone being rude and hateful on a forum where we should support, and encourage each other through the tough times we are presented with gaining permanent residency and thereafter.

I wish you luck, blazinhassan. I have never been in this situation so I can't give any knowledgeable advice. But I wish you luck!

Exactly. Immigration is stressful in itself, and on top of this to go through such turmoil. I wish you luck blazinhassan.
Cheating is disrespectful, but to Becki, well maybe not, she probably cheated on her ex husband so in her mind its excusable.

And he said, since she cheated, I can't cohabit with her. My case is neglect and abuse.
Everything else aside, your case is not abuse. People cheat, marriages break down and spouses leave; it's a difficult situation but it's not abuse. As for arguing neglect, the fact that you are self-sufficient and aren't actually deprived of the necessities of life will make it very hard for you to prove neglect, regardless of her 3 year sponsorship obligation. If you were unemployed with no place to live and nothing to eat and she was refusing to support you, that would be neglect.

It's unfortunate for you but you need to be prepared for the possibility that CIC will not accept your argument and will revoke your PR.

I agree his situation doesn't involve neglect either, because as mentioned, you are still able to work, make a living, buy food, have a roof over your head, etc. It's not like you are unemployed/disabled, she is the breadwinner, and now suddenly she's not feeding you. As for the emotional aspect, she never threatened your life, never threatened to remove your PR if you don't do what she says, never told you cannot see your friends or leave the house.

I honestly don't think you have a case. Her cheating isn't okay... But that's my honest opinion. I don't think you'll have a case. And there is a high chance your pr will be revoked.

I wish the terms weren't so vague.

Hassan still has a future ahead of him. The US, although IMO not as great as Canada, is still way better than most countries to live in.

I appreciate if you let us know what happens with u Hassan, but I think you should also start planning your life back in the US now if and when they revoke your PR. I applaud you for doing the right thing and getting a divorce even if it means losing your PR, rather than live a lie and tough it out until Condition 51 expires.
