Dear Sinziana
I just would like to inform you that the processing time for Bucharest VO is 24 months now.
I think there is no need to be worry.
well you please share your time line ... when did you send the file ? PER ? and when did you receive your medical request ?
Regards
24 months??!! This is not what I read on the official cic site.
I am a permanent resident, sponsoring my husband from Romania. I filed my application on Nov 4, 2014. Got the sponsor approval on Feb 13, 2015. On July 31, 2015 they started processing my application. My husband did the medicals one month before we sent in the application, in Oct 2014. They exipre next month but we didn't get any e-mails to redo them. Is this normal?
Thank you so much gor the reply!!

That timeline is for FEDERAL SKILLED WORKERS

This forum is for Family Class sponsorship, so maybe you guys are talking about different things. I believe family class sponsorship is 17 months. and yes, you start counting from the time the VO has started processing the application (from Bucharest).

I have a similar timeline a Sinziana. my medical will expire Oct 3 but no notice from the VO to redo medical yet either.

"In process" is still good though. means they are working on it. My status didn't change to "in process" until August, but they started processing it since March.

Good luck, please keep us informed if you hear news.

Oh my God! I did not hope for this answer!! So you mean I have 15 more months of waiting left?! Shouldn't it be from the time they received my application for PR, this means the date I filed the application (Nov 4) ?? :((

Thank you!!

So you check processing times here

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

The first sentence is:

"The tables below indicate application processing times at Canadian visa offices once Step 1 has been completed."

Step 1 is for Sponsor Approval, which is 56 days at this point.

Overall, the process is ....Step 1 (56 days) PLUS Step 2 (17 months)

Time will go by, and they do work on your application. I hope you'll hear from them soon.

I have received document request from them, so I know that they are looking at our application. Just that every time they have to request documents means our application gets put at the back of the line again, I think.

I

It doesn't mean it will take 17 months. Look at our timelines, we got it much sooner, so I wish it will be your case too.

Hi everyone!
I got the PR visa on Sept 9, 2015 and I landed today on Sept 29,2015 8)
I wish you all good luck with getting your PR as soon as possible!

Thanks deeafahd!
They started processing my application on April 2, 2015 and I received DM on Sept 9, 2015, so my application has been in Bucharest for about 5 months :)

Hi again,
Is there anyone else who's application took 6 monthts to get to the Visa Office in Bucharest. I mean I got the sponsor approval on Feb 14 and they started processing my application on July 31. So it means that my application was in stand by for 6 months?
Sorry for all my questions, but I'm so starting to lose my patience. :((

Anyone knows how long does it take the embassy to finish the application after they have requested the passports?
Ours has been there for more than 15 working days (as long as they say it should take) and still no news from them (courier pick-up has been prearranged of course)
Thx, guys

@ Maysl Alex,

If you have Decision Made on Ecas, I recommend you to send them an email asking when is your passport ready for pick-up to send the courier.
I did the same thing and they answered me the next day saying that my documents are ready for pick-up and I need to initiate a "request for pick-up" with my courier.

In my case, I sent my passport by courier from Canada to Bucharest.

It seems that they don't send any notification to pick-up the documents.

Thx Teo.
We did the same thing - passport was sent with the courier from Canada.
If our status still says "In Process", than I shouldn't worry? It's just been too long, cause I noticed that most people receive their passport back with visa within 1-2 weeks

Sometimes Ecas doesn't reflect the actual status of your file. Even if you have "In Process" I recommend you to send an email (to the email address you received the PPR from) and ask them if you will get any notifications when your passport is ready for pick-up.
