Hello,
I'm a romanian married to another romanian who is a permanent resident. He applied for citizenship in January and we are still waiting for an answer.
I first came to Canada with a visitor visa in august 2008 and in december 2008 we got married. We have been living together ever since.I applied for a visa extension ( in which I mentioned that we got married ) in January and it's valid til 25 of november 2009.
My biggest problem right now is that I MUST go to Romania for a couple of months and I really don't know what to do .I heard so many things about going and not being able to re-enter Canada.I called the CIC and they weren't very helpful.
I was thinking about withdrawing my application and re-applying from Romania.
If someone could help please .I really need some advice .
Thanks.

I am not sure, if Romania is still one of "visa exemption" countries. If you don't need a visa to come back then it should be ok. You just say the truth that you are visiting your husband. Having said that, there is always a risk, not only on you but on every foreigner arriving to Canada. The Immigration officer at POE has the discretion to question and to turn anyone back. This is rare and should not scare you. If you need visa to come back then here is the trouble. It is very unlikely you will get one. Also you should remain in Canada as long as you apply "inland". Do you really want to withdraw application and apply as outland? It depends on your circumstances and how long your inland aplication has been sitting in the Immigration office. Normally the outland is faster and you have the right of appeal if you are refused.
Hope this would help

Thank you so much
My application was received on June 30th and they started processing it August 26th.
I have no ideea how long it will take and from everything I read I know it's faster to apply outland.
Romania needs a visa to come to Canada.
So what do you think about withdraw? Can I do it ?

Did you apply inland? If that is the case and you are unable to get another tourist visa, then I would say yes, you should withdraw your inland application and apply outland. If you applied outland (and judging from you dates it looks like you did), then leave it as is but update your address with CIC to where you will be living in Romania.

is there any chance to postpone or cancel your trip to Romania?

I can't postpone my trip there. It is very important that I go now ...very strong reasons trust me ...
I applied inland yes . And I know now that it will take up to 1 year to receive PR ...that s why i figured I should withdraw it and re-apply once I arrive in Romania.
Thank you so much for all your help .
If you think of something else let me know

Apply for a new multiple entry visit visa.
If you get it, go to Romania, try to come back and if refused entry, withdraw inland and apply outland.
If you don't get it, go to Romania, try to apply for visa to come back, if refused, withdraw inland and apply outland.
If you manage to get back, no need to withdraw inland since you've already applied, might as well let it roll.
