Romanian Timeline - In Process

Hi,


Our PR request came on Oct 15th. They received the pass on Oct 20th and then on Oct 23rd the online status changed to "Decision Made". Do you know how many days does it usually take to receive the passport back with the visa ? We sent them via a prepaid courier. Also, will there be any other email from them saying passport sent or something like that? We have a plane ticket bought for Nov 20th, I hope it'll arrive in time, they are saying 15 working days max or so.

As for the PR card, you said it took 2 months to get it in the mail. Is there anything you have to do once you land (applying for the card) or so, or does it come in the mail at the address you provided (spouse address) ?

Still looking for an answer regarding the PR card. Will it come in the mail after aprox. 2 mths or do we have to apply for it ?

how long did it take you to get the visa once you sent the passport to the VO?


also, I have been told by my lawyer that during your landing process in canada (at the airport) they will apply for your PR card there. They stamp the papers you have, and then your PR card is applied for.

Hi everyone ...Bucharest Visa started processing my application on November 11th and today, on November 19th we received an e-mail from them that they request for my birth certificate. We are sad coz we're thinking that this will delayed a lot our application. Could someone tell me if it's a problem that I sent a copy of my old birth certificate or I should renew it ??? And how long do you think that will delayed our application ?? Thank you !!

Does anyone know how long the processing will take from the day medicals are done, to when the VO will received the results?


I think this is the last item we are going to be asked for so I am really hoping it is quick... Still hoping my hubby will come home for Christmas...

I got passport request today.


Can people tell me how they arranged the return of their passport? Our letter says to pre-pay for Waybill... Does DHL do this?

I want to share my story with PR card. I did the landing on 15th August, I completed all the papers etc. They told me to wait for the PR. I know this takes longer, so I waited.

Normally it takes 52 days.

Since it's 4 months already, I called CIC and they said they didn't process any PR card for me, because I did not provide my address in Canada. So I have to give them the address and wait 52 days :-D

You can imagine this is not true, I was forced to give an address when I did the landing, I am not living on the street... so I want to tell you all, after you do the landing, in 2-3 weeks call CIC just to make sure everything is OK and you will get the PR card on time.

I am living Canada at the beginning of the year and I need the PR card to return.. guess what, I don't have it. I have to make an application while I am in Romania, send it to the embassy, pay, wait and hopefully they will send it on time. All this because I didn't call and comment, I just waited... so don't do like myself.

Thanks for the info Deedee, I will definitely follow up on the PR card after a week just to be sure they got the application.


We got Decision made today (it's sunday, and i didn't check yesterday, so it could have been yesterday) but I know i checked Friday and it wasn't there. The ECAS is really weird with their updates.

Anyway YAY !!!! Thanks you to the forum for helping with all the info and insight. It's at least good to know there's support out there.

I will post a summary when hubby is home. Looks like we will make it for Christmas!

Deedee can you tell me which number you called?? I want to check if they got my husband's application for PR card as you suggest, but I found a general number, and it's always busy. I can't get through.

I also saw that there's a $50 fee for the PR card. Is this for first time PR card or replacement? Cuz my husband didn't pay $50 when he landed. He said he filled the papers, and the officer told him his card will be sent to our home address.

The timeline is now 87 days, so I don't want to wait 3 months to find out there is problems with the PR card.

On ECAS it shows "IN PROCESS". Do they send an e-mail when the passport is ready for pick up? How do we arrange passport pick-up ? I send mine with Fan Courier and they told me I should wait to receive and e-mail from the embassy... is that correct ?

Hi. Did you hear anything from the VO since November?
My application got to Bucharest in Feb. 2016, on ecas on the PR side it says IP and 3 lines, it says they started processing the application on Feb. 25th.
Not sure if they are actually working on it, or it just sits in a corner somewhere.
I was hoping to hear some good news from people going through Bucharest VO.
