@ quebec , @ egrace.

Finally I got a reply from BIQ HK, rather a bad news and I did not make the cut... But anyway it is fine.

Here are the details for others to know. So that you can have approximate estimate.

Education - 10 ( ELectronics & communication Engineering)
age - 16
experience - 4 ( though I have more than 10 years of experience- I took a break to take care of my family business and started working for the past 2.5 years).
english - 6/6
french - 2/16( since I completed only A1 while applying , now I have A2)

Spouse (education) - 2
spouse (age ) - 3

brother in canada - 0 ( I am yet to send additional document)
Son - 4
finance - 1

Total 48,

I have to score 57 - since I need to respond within 60 days .. I already have A2 with me. So I can get 4 more points, and another 3 points for my brother in canada.

so I am running short of 2 points. With the situation unless my wife clears A1 I cannot make the cut.

However I am planning to send the required documents,, and current working last pay stub. Let me keep my fingers crossed.

Hi friends,
I need your advice in this matter,
I will be applying for quebec and points calculation is as follows:

now, if i get the PR then can I go alone first to Quebec without my wife, get settled there and after few months, say 3-6 months once I am financially stable then I will call her.
You all know very well, If I am alone, I can stay at any bachelor's apartment, can have any food, but if initially i bring my wife, then surely things need to be arranged in proper way and that needs time and money too:), I think I am not sounding dumb here..:).

Can it be done this way.... because I am keeping application for both of us.. and I will be

Hi friends,
after your support esp from egrace and other members, I calculated my points:
Age: 32 years 16 points I am principal applicant

education: M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry) in May-2000.12 points

Area of Training: 0 points, because related work exp is not in last 5 years.

Total work exp: 10 years; 5 years asPharmaceutical Sales Rep from Oct-2000 to Nov-2005.(dont know NOC code for this job) and Insurance Sales Manager from Mar-2006 to May-2007.
Training Officer (trainer): May-2007 till date. (NOC code:4131) 8 points

IELTS: Overall 7.0. Speaking 7.5, writing: 7. 6 points
Enrolled for French classes A1 level (Alliance Francoise) now. I will try to clear b2 level. 6 points.

Wife age: 26 years 3 points
Wife Edu: Bachelors. Commerce in year 2005. 3 points
Area of Training: 2 points because she has work exp in 5 years of education.
work exp: Accounts Assistant from 2006 to mid 2009
English: very basic level, no points
French: she can clear delf. 2 points

Total:
My points: 16+12+0+8+6 = 42 without french and + 6 =48 with french upto b2 level.
My spouse: 3+3+2+0=8 without french and +2 = 10 with french upto a1 level.
Financial self-sufficiancy: 1 points.
Over-all points: 48+10+1 = 59 points.

So I can claim 59 points as per this calculation.

@ mkshah,

Of course, as a principal applicant you can go to Quebec first and then after well settled down there , you can call your wife and children , but the only condition is that they should be called within 1 year as the PR visa issued is valid for 1 year from the date of its issued. And also the PA must enters first.

regards,

Yogie

Hey Everybody,

I am new to this group. I am from Bangladesh. I have applied through Quebec Immigration. And my BIQ is in Hong Kong. I applied trough immigration lawyer in Quebec (Go Immigration Canada). Today I have got a "acknowledgement and opening of your file with a file number" fax from Hong Kong. Can anybody please tell me what does it mean? My lawyer sent my docs June 10, 2011 and July 27, 2011, I have got the fax. I am a IT Manager in a MNC and 5 yrs work experience. I am holding Bachelor degree in Computer for London Metropolitan University, UK and done my MBA in Marketing from local University. My wife has completed BBA and now working in a Bank as a Management Trainee Officer. I am learning french in AFD (alliance Francaise de Dhaka) for 6 month and completed DELF A1. I have now enrolled in DELF A2.

Friends, I have some questions. If you please answer those, I will be very thankful to you.

1. Can anyone please tell me, where my interview will take place?
2. How long its going to take to issue acceptance letter?
3. What will be the time period for issuing the CSQ?
4. As my profession is not listed in FSW Noc list, will be this create any problem?
5. How is the job market for IT personnel and bankers?

Lets hope for the best.

This means that they have received your application and your mode of payment didn't have any problem. My lawyer sent my docs June 10, 2011 and July 27, 2011 you mean june 27???, I have got the fax. 1. Can anyone please tell me, where my interview will take place? This depends on BIQ HK they will decide the location of your interview, but now a days they are calling the applicants to HK.
2. How long its going to take to issue acceptance letter? CSQ will be given to you if you could successfully overcome the interview.
3. What will be the time period for issuing the CSQ? I think now it takes 10+ months because I have been waiting for 9 months now but still no news of interview.
4. As my profession is not listed in FSW Noc list, will be this create any problem? This is QSW program doesn't have any relation with FSW prgram.
5. How is the job market for IT personnel and bankers? No Idea

Lets hope for the best.

Hello Fro, u have a good file and if u send the TCF results fo ur wife u have big chances to get ur CSQ without interview, as ur file gets the following points:
Niveau de scolarite : 10
Experience professionelle: 8
Age: 16
Francais: 10
Anglais: 2
Conjoint scolarite:3
Age:2
Francais: 2
___________________
Ur total till now is 53, they ask for a 50 minimum
After: 3 kids under 12 : 12 points
Autonomie financiere: 1
u have now 66 points
U don't even need the adaptability points that can get u 6 more points
but to get ur visa u need 63 points with adaptability
u have 66 without adaptability
So u will get ur CSQ without interview
Good luck, send ur wife's test and have faith

Hi there:

Thank you all for sharing your experiences, it is very helpful.
I have a question regarding language proficiency.
We (my husband, 2 kids, and I) are applying to quebec, and I as principal applicant have taken the IELTS (8.5) and waiting on my TEFAQ results.
I have heard that my husband might need to provide french language proficiency, is that true?
I really need to find out as I am ready to send out my application by next week.

Thanks guys and all the best.
