Hello everyone, this is my first post and first of all I would like to thank you all for helping others, for sharing information and being supportive, you are great :)
I need your help: I would like to apply for QSC and I am close, I have almost everything ready, just need to translate all my documents and send them but I am not sure I understand in which group I belong (if any). I am air transportation engineer, my diploma is not from Quebec and I got it after 9 semesters (4.5 years).
Another thing I don't understand is: I graduated ALMOST 5 years ago, it will be 5 years in a few months, and I don't have experience related to my diploma, so, when they receive my application, will that be locked or will I lose points and be rejected?
Thank you ;D

hello buzzowski,
Welcome to the forum mate, yes it is really a nice place where everyone tries to help the other.
Let me try it for you.
It is good that you are very close to your application.
As per new proposed rules, new applications received after 21st March 2012 will be divided into 3 groups. Group 1 has no limit on number of applications. Group 2 will receive 14300 applications till 31st March 2012. And no applications will be accepted for group 3.
Pls check below link for this info:
www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/applications-receipt.html

Now, as per your details, if your education was achieved before 5 years, and if you dont have related work experience in last 5 years prior to ur application, then u will be in Group 3.
Which means u can not apply till these rule is applicable.
Pls refer to the below text for group 2 in the link I provided:
You belong to Group 2 if one of the following
situations applies to you: You or your accompanying spouse hold a diploma, awarded by an teaching institution in an area of training allowing you to get 6 points under the area of training criterion of the selection grid for skilled workers (see list, in French, 38 kb). The number of years of study required to obtain your diploma must be at least equal to the number of years required to obtain that diploma in Québec. This
diploma was obtained less than five years before
the date of your application. Failing that, you must
have practised, on a full-time basis and for at least one year out of the five years preceding the date of your application, a profession or trade in an area related to that diploma.

However, if you are married and ur spouse is working and hving this 5 yrs related work experience, then you can make your spouse principal applicant.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I am married but my spouse can not be principal aplicant since her education and experience are not on their list.
It is not yet 5 years but it will be soon - THIS AUGUST!!! so it is very important for me to know if that criterion will be locked.

Hello mkshah,

Thank you so much for helping me i really appreciate your time on my case.I kind of understand a little bit better how to do my points thank to you .If you don't mind me asking how can i be sure i fall in group 2 ? For the one year experience after getting my diploma in IT , yes it is on my field of studies , i am working at the moment with an IT company as computer support specialist and systems analyst ,does it mean i get the 6 points ?
Le Manuel D'immigration is getting me kind of confuse cause i thought like you said that my associate degree would be with the two years a secondary level vocational training but when i see the equivalent of an Associate from the US it's a college level technical training ,so how would i get the 6 points with the Computer Support (DVS - 1,800 hours / 2 years) which falls under the secondary level vocational training on the list of area of training? Does it make a difference that i am working as a computer support specialist on the IT field ? This is so confusing ! Thank you again for your help and good luck on your case.

Experts, I badly need your opinion.

Good morning!

I had submitted my application for CSQ on the 24th of March 2012 --- received and stamped by the BIQ HK on the 26th of March 2012.

On my application, I selected NO on the "Have you ever applied for Permanent Residence in Canada except Quebec" though I have had applied for the FSW category on JULY 2010. I got my E-CAS number but then I have had my application withdrawn.

My question is that:

1. Should I have had selected YES on the "Have you ever applied for Permanent Residence in Canada except Quebec" or I did have the correct choice of selecting "NO" though I have had received my E-CAS under FSW and have it withdrawn?

if YES should be my choice:

1a. When is the best time for me to update BIQ HK as for the reason that I haven't declared on my application form specifically on the Application Selection Certificate (A-0520-AA) that I had applied on the FSW category last July 2010 and that I had withdrawn my application.

1b. Should I wait for my AOR first before I update them or it'll be a lot better to update them as soon as possible?

1c. I already withdrawn my application. What should I select on the choices? Accepted? Denied? Waiting for Decision?

2. Would this deviation on my application cause vital effect on my CSQ application?

Thank you in advance!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your application could be rejected on the basis of misrepresentation:

Refusal of Application:
Applicants can be refused at anytime during the process of the application, for any of the following reasons:

Responsibility of the Quebec Authorities:

• Financial reasons
• misrepresentation (failure to be truthful during the application or the omitting of information)
• non-compliance (failure to respond to the immigration officers requests and/or failure to provide the information within the deadline specified
• inadmissible of family members (family members must also comply with these requirements)

I will probably write them before the AOR is issued and notify them of the error. I would have told them its a mistake on my behalf and if an opportunity exists for me to correct it and how. Once they instruct you follow that instruction, the longer you wait the more dishonest you may look. This information was taken from http://www.rsscanadaimmigration.com/en/process/sworkerq.php

Hello buzzowski,

As you are in Aerospace engineering group, your AOT point will be 12 and you will not have any cap limit and also you can easily reach minm point without submitting french score as you are getting point 12 in AOT. Moreover, you can get your visa within 12 mmonths maximum as you are in priority list. But, keep remember all these facility you will get before the completion of 5 years. After that, you will be put in Group 2.
Hence, do fast, submit the application ASAP.

hi buzzowski,
it is really lucky for you that still you have almost 4 months remaining in completion of 5 years period for your education.
Also, as you mention you are air transportation engineer.
So your education will be any one among the below list:
1. Avionics (12 points of AOT)
2. Air Construction Techiniques (16 points of AOT)
3. Aerospace, aeronautical, astronautical Engineering. (16 points of AOT)

so hec006 rightly said, you must not wait any further, and submit all documents as early as possible.

regarding translation of documents, if the language of document is other than english or french, then only they require a translation of this document in either english or french.

Do you have all documents in english or french?
IF yes, then no need to go for translation.
