Hi MKSHAH Sir yur help is required.

I have been inquired with 2 to 3 agents questioning upon older than 2 years A1 and A2 is not being validated by BIQ as given in website also. But they all are saying that it is not like that DELF is valid for life time.My self also confused that whether they are right or they don't have enough knowledge.

what to do??

This is peculiar...what I mean is you applied way in advance before the rules changed where it is now mandatory to show evidence of knowing the language. Don't get me wrong I'm not stating to Lie but why didn't you state on your application that you knew some degree of French and then work towards attaining that level so when asked you can redily show as proof. None the less, the fact that you submitted your application without claiming French and received an initial AOR means your file was opened and satisfy the initial requirements...I could only see the updates you gave them prove that you have a desire to master the language spoken there, keep your records with you and once called for an interview you can show them to claim points for adaptibility

Thanks Bajan,

Before making of my application when i did the online assessment i was qualifying without French language, and for the safe side i did not mention any knowledge of French coz i was expecting to have my interview in English, similarly i sent my registration slip with Alliance Francaise with my application but when the points were calculated i was short of 2 points as they informed me and than i took the DELF exams..

But still my question remains...As some one told that language points were locked at the time of making application and in that case God forbids my French language points are also locked with "ZERO" Please comment if iam wrong..

Thanks vickyRocks for raising the question again !!!

Mkshah and other helpful members,

How much true is the LOCKING MECHANISM for French proficiency, especially for those who have applied before 5th December or 21th March, whatever the case may be..

If any kind of written declaration or press news in the website or anybody has got written mail in hard copy on the same issue?

If someone has called and somebody has answered in the phone, it will not be a valid argument to rely upon. Isn't it ridiculous !!!

DELF is valid for whole life and it's valid for 2 years in immigration for Quebec.

Consult the ciep website and immigration website, not the agent.

Thanks Hec for highlighting the query..
you are quite right that we should have some genuine proof that applicants French language is locked at the time of Application. Because if it is true than i must tell you many applicants will be in trouble because it is no where written on the BIQ website or any where else that the points are locked..
In nutsheell we need some solid evidence because some one here said that it was told to him when he called the officer at IO...

Seniors or any one please comment.

Hi Friends,

I just spoke to BIQ, Montreal and they say that your DELF language points are locked at whatever level's certificate you send in the application. So that means you can't update your French score later if you give higher levels of French!!!! This is so frustrating!

If I am applying with 49 points, I am going to have to get full 6 points for adaptability in that case, which is IMPOSSIBLE! I don't understand why they can't give more points for higher levels of French proficiency after applying!

Thankd Javeed,
Yes my application was made in August 2010 but read the previous post of the member which is really alarming.
It says"I just spoke to BIQ, Montreal and they say that your DELF language points are locked at whatever level's certificate you send in the application. So that means you can't update your French score later if you give higher levels of French!!!! This is so frustrating!"

Hi c82, yes hec006 is correct.

Delf diploma is valid for lifetime, but for quebec immigration purpose, it must not be older than 2 years.

@ hec006, vickyrocks, javeedislam & nevillek,
This info about locking of french points is shared with us by forum member nevillek and he mentioned in his previous post also that he has sent an email to biq for confirming this info.

@ nevillek, pls confirm with us if you have rcvd any reply to ur email to biq regarding this info which u shared with the forum.

Now, first of all let us not rely on this verbal info which as stated by nevillek, is told to him on phone by someone from biq montreal.

This verbal info is not authentic and also nowhere on quebec website anything is mentioned related to this info. So dont worry much and lets get some official communication from quebec authorities and then only believe it.

Buddy, can I have their e-mail address? I want to cater this as soon as possible. Inline of the above, should I have had submitted identical Certified Job Description as those on my FSW?

Thank you!

hi knivesvente,
Below is the link for sending email to BIQ HK:
www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/biq/hong-kong/reach.html

Regarding job descriptions, if you have mentioned your work experience same as in FSW application, then no worries at all.

Hi Seniors,
Please help me I am applying for Quebec, I am only getting 49 points

Level of Education = 10 (B.tech computers)
Areas of Training=6 (B.tech computers engineering)
French = 6 ( TEF A2 in both comprehension orale and expression orale)
English = 6 (8.5 bands each in speaking and listening)
Work Experirnce = 4 (One year work experience)
Age = 16
Financial Self-Sufficiency = 1

Total points are 49 and required are 55.

Should I apply now and improve my french scores or should I wait for next TEF exam score B1 and then apply, please suggest I am bit nervous and confused.

Can we later update my french score after I submit my appication as per the form there is a provision given in it

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/dcs/A-0520-MA-dyn.pdf

Please look at point Submission of a new item in support of your application or that of your spouse (education, work experience,
language knowledge, etc.) in the application.

Seniors I will require your help..

Does this mean 6+6=12points? Any link J'espère que ça peut aider. Any useful link about this information? thanks

as you are reaching to interview threshold, you can send your file now..
Should I apply now and improve my french scores yes, you can do it or should I wait for next TEF exam score B1 and then apply, based on new quota based system, if you fall in gropu 2, then u should not wait any further... But if you are in group 1, then you can surely have time for this, take the exam, get result and then send your application. please suggest I am bit nervous and confused.

@ forum members who are worried about the locking of language points... there is a specific statement mentioned in the form for updating change in situauion:

As pointed out by forum member red.mystryit is as below:

as per the form there is a provision given in it

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/dcs/A-0520-MA-dyn.pdf

Please look at point Submission of a new item in support of your application or that of your spouse (education, work experience,

So, I think, we can update them with higher level results of language proficiency at a later stage too, surely it must be before interview.
