I made a point about attitudes in Canada which you seem to have ignored.I don't know if you know about US immigration. For Indian, Chinese nationals, the employment based Green Card process takes easily a decade or so and it has been like that for at least the past 10 years. No one protests there in support of such immigrants.
The US is different.There is a lot of empathy for those waiting for their green cards but citizenship is straight forward and the emphasis is on the interview and test to prove your Americanness. And yes, there is a culture of protest. But let’s stick to the rotten politics in Canada.
