Deeaar, are you sure that your friends received medicals in April 2010 and they are being dealt by CPP-O. If so, than it's a long wait for them as they did have visa quotas in April.

Hope for the best , but think of worst too. Better your friend go for CAIPS note which wil clear everything.

All the best!!

Hi friends,

I have received an e mail from CPPO-OTTAWA as follows:

"Please note that you have a new application number assigned to your file: XXXXXXXXXXX

Please quote this application number in any future correspondence"

Does anyone have the same experience please share as when I check my status on line it does not show my record.

Regards,

Hi kur761,

My file number is the same since I first applied in 2007. Even when my file was transferred to Ottawa office, they gave me the same file number. And my online status is showing my postal address and a blank field where the status is supposed to be. This has been the case since June or July 2010.

I don't know why they gave you a new file number, but it seems that there will be some delay in your case. This is just my interpretation.

Good luck.

Hi Ahmad,

My friend applied under Accountants profession in late 2006 and moreover all the cases under old batch is due for PPR, irrespective of which month a person has done his medicals. Its only the new category applicants ( post feb 2008) are getting Med+PPR together.

Lets wait patiently and hope for the best in dec-jan...

good luck buddy.

hey kur761, that's rather unusual. I think we all might get new file numbers as everyones status is blank. Have you tried to access ecas with the new file number? What does it says?

Hi All,

After more than six and a half months of waiting, I finally received my medicals today in the mail. I booked an appointment for Tuesday. Wish me luck ;D

Thanks.

Hi kur761

I have received the same message from Ottawa,

So sent them email and they replied me that their software has generated these new application numbers and nothing else.

What i am thinking they are streamline the application which are in backlog in one specific order.

It seems that they are only issuing it to those who haven't got their meds yet. As we have received ours so we might not get new numbers as our files are in final phase now, almost i believe. Nothing to worry abt any way guys, your meds will be on its way shortly Insha'Allah.

I GOT THE MEDICALS!!! ;D

Today (27/11/2010) I received the request for medical reports for me and my spouse. The request dated (9/11/2010). It's mentioned in the letter that "You should make arrangements to undergo the required medical examination immediately. Failure to do so within 30 days of this notice will result in unnecessary delays in the processing of your application". That means my deadline is 9/12/2010.

I booked for the medical examination after tomorrow (29/11/2010) and according to the doctor I spoke with it will take around ten business days to be sent to London.

What do you think the best way to address the possible delay of our medical report as I received it very late? (It took 18 days to receive the medical request from CPP-Ottawa)

Your advice is highly appreciated..

Good luck for ALL

Note:
The following is my application time-line:

Application location: Gulf region
Application sent: Sept 2007 (London)
AOR: Oct 2007
Request for update: March 2010 (CPP-Ottawa)
Documents submitted: June 2010
Status update: October 2010
Medical request: November 2010

Congratulations phmagdi!

A friend of mine got his medicals more than a month after the 30 days period due to delay in the post. He wrote an email to them (London office) and sent the medicals any way. They accepted this, and he landed this Summer. So I think you're OK. But just to be on the safe side, write them an email explaining the delay in the mail.

Good luck!
