It should be Ottawa. Luckily I'm with my family in the USA. We have a few loose ends to wrap up after they land and before we can move. The main one, selling our home. And since we have a son in Kindergarten, we don't want to start that home selling process now and risk uprooting him prematurely. We'll save that for when it's time to make the big move out of the country.

Thanks. I'm just wondering where do people get this information from, as it is nowhere to be found on the CIC website. Please let me know if you get any official information from the call centre.

I spoke to two different agents; their answer was: A short holiday will not be a problem if you are PR as long as you don't leave and live in another country. I specifically asked what if I move there, his answer was: as a PR you are required to stay in the country for 2 years out of 5 to maintain residency and this also applies to your spouse's application. He also mentioned that in case the visa office asks for more docs or anything else its my responsibility to flourish the them ASAP. I am sure we will get SA by this month end and since I am leaving in Feb we can deal with any information requests for my wife's side of the application.

Bottom line is a short visit is not a problem as long you don't move to live there.

You application should be much quicker since it will be processed it Ottawa. I am just curious, you are in the US applied for sponsoring your wife and kid in London but chose the Ottawa office?

We have seen many outland applicants getting confirmation clearly explaining that the in Canada application has been received and what not.
I would presume the only way to know is when you get the AOR unfortunately

Really that has happened? so now im on 53rd day and no AOR as of yet, but they updated online 58 days, so lets see hopefully i hear something this week..

But did you have a tracking number for the first time you sent the form? Did you provide it to them to prove that it was delivered the first time?

Yes the second time i submitted on Dec 5th i sent them a copy of the 1st form along with the conformation of delivery on Oct23rd. Hope they see it soon and re-consider my application.

I just got off the phone with CIC, nothing yet just a heads up the call volumes were high when I called, but hung up and did the dance in French and got through on the first try. And I don't speak French, so don't worry if u don't either lol just press 1 for french and then 1 all the way through until they ask u to verify your UCI number and DOB. Fingers crossed for everyone this week!

Thanks for sharing the info. They said 'if you are a PR'. Does this mean that if the sponsor is a citizen, he is allowed to leave no questions asked?

If you have provided your email in the form, than you would get it in your email else its through mail.

Actually, I was told that it depends on the officer examining the application. I provided my email and received an email requesting the new form back in September, ecas now says they made a decision on my SA and a letter was mailed the end of November but I still havent received it. Some members say it takes approximately 3 weeks for the letter to arrive and CIC told me that if I dont receive it in 4 weeks they can request for a new one to be sent out. CIC can't see the status of SA, they just see the same as me, decision made (on the sponsorship approval section) and application and medicals received under my husband

Thats great to hear, its good news congrats.

Did you check on ecas using the sponsor`s UCI number right

I sent in my Application on October 14th, received by the office on the 15th. Been worried for a few days now but after reading this thread looks like I'm not the only one in this boat. Will update spreadsheet now.

Since we submitted it on a Friday, it went into the lot that they would look at the following Monday/Tuesday

Thanks for updating us. I'm 2 weeks after you. I was hoping mine will be done before Christmas. But guess not. Sigh.
