discuss with notary your requirement, they will draft the affidavit for you, if you are ok with the wording go and get the affidavit certified with the notary

However, I've already got the notarized affidavit done from a solicitor. Had to spend money but it is what it is.

No, BLS did not ask for the affidavit at all. And no affidavit was provided in the past.

So I guess, we are at the mercy of a person who is checking the documents. Seems like there is no set parameters to evaluate the applications.
Hope I get my OCI smoothly after this and no other issue is found.

Luck of the draw I guess! The BLS agent who checked our 4 applications was a pleasant young woman. Everything was in order with our applications. We were in and out in about 40 minutes. Altogether a very satisfying experience.
I am sure you will get your OCI soon. Good luck! We got ours in about 7 weeks from the time of application.
