https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in/Hi all, I have my voter id card but I am not able to generate the EPIC number on the ECI website. I registered using my phone number and email but of no avail. Without the epic number, I am not able to fill form 7 or form 8. can anyone please let me know what can i do, short of going to India and getting my name removed from the voting list? thanks
1. Leave it blank.Hi everyone,
I'm applying for an OCI through BLS Brampton and wanted to clarify a couple of things based on your recent experience:
- In the "Previous Passport Number" field under the passport details section —
Did you enter your Indian passport number or leave it blank/N/A after surrendering Indian citizenship?
- I have a place of birth discrepancy between my Indian and Canadian passports:
- Indian passport: DELHI, DELHI
- Canadian passport: NEW DELHI IND
I’ve already prepared an affidavit stating that both refer to the same place.
➤ Do I need to upload this affidavit with the application, or just need to submit a hard copy along with the application?
Would appreciate it if anyone who recently went through this process could share their experience or how BLS handled this. Thanks in advance!
https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/page/premium-lounge-policy/Hi! I’m planning on applying for my OCI at the BLS Vancouver. I’m considering going for the premium option since BLS gave a hard time when I applied for surrender certificate.
Anyone who has gone for the premium service. What is included with it? Can I just take all my supporting documents with me to BLS and they will fill it up, take my photos and everything? Or do I need pre-fill the form when I go?
Previous Passport Number: Only if you had a previous Canadian passport (not Indian passport) you need need to mention that else leave it blankHi everyone,
I'm applying for an OCI through BLS Brampton and wanted to clarify a couple of things based on your recent experience:
I checked the Election Commission website and couldn’t find any record of my name.

➤ Do I need to upload this affidavit with the application, or just need to submit a hard copy along with the application?- Back in 2013, while doing my Bachelor's in India, I applied for a Voter ID card, but:
- I never received it
- My name never appeared on the voter list
- I’ve never held a Ration Card
➤ In this case, is it enough to sign and upload the self-declaration form? Also, the form states that the respective person has surrendered the Voter ID card and Ration card, but is this declaration applicable in my case as well, since I never held a Voter ID or Ration Card?
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and submitted their application with no issues?
Would appreciate it if anyone who recently went through this process could share their experience or how BLS handled this. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the help @abbas.pasha and @Irf_1 and for your input.Previous Passport Number: Only if you had a previous Canadian passport (not Indian passport) you need need to mention that else leave it blank
Place of Birth should be fine.. In my daughter's case it was the complete opposite, IND PP said New Delhi, CAN PP said Delhi (because her birth certificate only showed references like MCD, South Delhi no where New Delhi was mentioned and Passport Canada did not budge). I ended up getting a affidavit but BLS said it was not needed. But if you want you can get one from Barrister in Brampton from whom I got the thing done...
Just sign and upload the Self Declaration Form
