Hey guys
What is the phone number for IRCC to check the status of my wife’s file ?
Thanks

Hi I contacted the local MP member and asked them to help me check my application status. They responded with the following status:

The criminality verifications have expired on February 26, 2021 and will need to be reworked.
The security verifications are currently valid.
The immigration verifications have not been initiated.
As per our current processing times, it may take up to 12 months to finalize the application, if the applicant needs to travel during this time, they should apply to renew their permanent resident card if they are eligible.
The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and the next step would be the citizenship test.

Since it said my criminality verifications have expired on February 26, 2021 and do I have to do anything? Like, do I need to re-submit my background check to CIC? Thanks.

Another 12 months from now?

Hello, sorry for the delay getting back to you.

I called my MP's office, explained that I have been waiting over a year since AOR, and would appreciate their assistance in checking the status of my application. The person I spoke to sent me a pdf via email to fill out giving the MP and their representative authorization to check the status of my application. I sent it back immediately. 48 hours later they told me my app was in Edmonton, background checks completed, just waiting for my turn for test invite.
Quick question, do you remember if you marked on your citizenship application that you were allowing for your MP to access your file? I don't remember if I did, but I would like to inquire with my MP but I'm wondering if there is any point in asking them to check my application if I didn't mark a "yes" on that part of the application.

I don't recall seeing that section in the application form, but I reached out to my MP anyway, and his office were very helpful. Anyone with a legitimate concern regarding his/her Citizenship application has the right to reach out to an MP.

Okay that's great to hear! I'll try it out this coming week, thank you!

The one you were referring I believe is the MP congratulatory letter. Which has nothing to do with your file. It's just a consent to allow them to congratulate you when you become a Canadian :)

There's nothing on the citizenship form about allowing or disallowing your MP access.

Your MP's office will send you a form that will allow them to access your information.

I have no idea which office. Before I lived in vaughan and now I live in Oakville.

Hope info useful for you :)
It's in the email address they sent you the notice. If it has SCR in it it's Scarborough, but MISS is Mississauga. But it is possible that your file was processed in Hamilton since you mentioned you lived in Oakville before.
