But in Q11 about employment history, i did overlap 2016-09 to 2017-05 and then 2017-05 to present

You can be employed till 10th of a month and then join a new place on the 11th. Applications are returned if there are not signed or some questions are missed or missing check boxes. So you are safe with respect to your work history. I had overlapping dates for employment and residence. I got my AOR

If there is continuity then no issues... But if they see a gap then it might be returned or the officer could contact you.

There is continuity. So i believe, no need to take any action right now.

I had end date as one month and start date as the next myself and had no issues. Quite common to end a rental agreement last day of a month and start a new one the day after but for jobs less common. As long as you didn't put an end date (for residence) as say June and start the next one in August shouldn't be an issue.

For employment a gap or overlap is fine. I've certainly worked multiple jobs at the same time before.

You can't do much more until you get (or don't get) AoR anyway, unfortunately. Would save many people a headache if there was an earlier tracking reference.
