Anyone have to submit visitor visa extension online?

Is this the link?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp

I heard that some proof of funds are required.
Is there anyway to avoid?
We live an hour from the border.... it would be so much easier to drive across and back and save $100.

Thanks.

Well I submitted my application on November 7th, received AOR on Jan 23rd and I have not heard back regarding SA. I'm going to wait until the end of this week and then call them up!

I agree, I think they stopped!! :o My package was received on November 4, 2014, and I received the AOR on January 15th, and I have not received my SA yet (even though those around me have!). Every time I hear my email go off on my phone I get my hopes up that it's the CIC, but never is..... starting to get a bit annoying I must admit.

Good luck everyone, hope things start rolling again soon this week.

Have you checked your spam & checked ECAS?

It looks like some applicants are getting their SA by mail for some reason though they had provided their email address.

No update for two days.... :o

I have been obsessively checking my ecas... I have decided I need to just do it twice a day. I did check my spam folder, but the original AOR came through fine, so I would think the SA would too. I also have been checking the mail everyday, and nothing has come in. I just wonder if whoever has my application is behind on things, or on vacation. If someone sees that CIC updated the processing times, can you let me know? Once they do that, I can call and get a better understanding of where they are with my particular file. When I called last week, they basically said that since the website said they were working on November 3, that they wouldn't investigate until the timeline had passed. So just biding my time I suppose!

As you know ECAS is not the most frequently updated took - It cane take much long after the file has moved from one stage to show on ECAS.
If you have already checked our junk and your mail then at this point there is nothing you can do than just wait and since you have got your AOR its only a matter of days not before you get your SA do dont worry (easily said than done)

Yes CIC will not be able to investigate anything if the processing date has not passed. There has been instances there the SA came in the mail after the ECAS was updated decision made.

Hope that helps

We're all on the same boat, jennylee.
My application was posted received on Nov. 5th and got AOR on January 18th. Since then, NADA!
I called them up (again) today and I was basically told the same thing, that since the website said they were working on November 3rd, that I should pretty much relax and wait a bit... LOL
I think we should all hear something soon, in the next few days (hopefully). It seems like they stopped for a few days somehow...
Good luck to all of us!

And I agree... checking ECAS doesn't help. From reading different people's posts here it seems like it takes a while for ECAS to be updated...
The best thing to do, in my honest opinion, is to call them once in a while (if you don't hear anything). They can see in their system if anything has changed in your file.

My partner got the AoR email today! Our application was received on nov 17!!

Chezvelo, I am from Brazil as well, but as a current resident of Canada I am applying through Ottawa... I wonder if they might just send it through Brazil instead.

Does AoR mean they checked documents etc? Or does it only mean they got it and haven't looked through it?

I did.. and I got it.
Well.. I don't know if you can avoid it.
My husband wrote a letter saying he'd be supporting me here in Canada.
If you want to try the border, why not? I don't have that experience as I never tried.

I am not sure if you can apply for a new visa at the border... but I am sure that either way you have to pay whatever fees! I have been to the border myself 2 times to pick up permits and I had to pay for them both times
