i have tried numerous times to call CIC... the 1 888 242 2100 number doesn't work from outside the US.... so i called the number that everyone else has given me and followed the prompt as instructed and eventually it tells me "this number cannot be reached from my calling area." so i hit 5 instead and wait for an employee and they say they can't tell me anything (or at least thats what i thought she said she was speaking french for the most part so i could barely understand her) ... so then i called the consulate general of new york..... they cant give me information either. it's SO SO SO frustrating just to try and get in touch with these people!!!!! it's a simple question, are they working on my application or have we passed stage one approval yet? yes or no? why can't they tell me? i e-mailed 3 different e-mail addresses and that was last week .... no reply still. so i emailed the ottpilot-immigration e-mail that they provide on cic.gc.ca, and still NOTHING. nothing at all. i'm done with trying to contact them until i go to canada this saturday, because its a waste of the time and the more i do it and the less i get through the more frustrated and worrisome i get.... do you think if when i get to canada on saturday (toronto pearson international) i can ask a customs officer if they can fill me in on what's going on here? they have a little computer behind their desks that they do god knows what on, so maybe they can look into the system somehow?
