btw, even in canada, it's very hard to get to talk to people. when i tried, 1) i got to the recorded message reading the same info on the website, 2) i was put on hold for a while and the machine hang up on me after "line is busy, please try again." then when i emailed, i got a reply in 2-3 days with a copy and paste of general information. even they were related to key words, it was totally useless when none of my questions was answered.

yeah i mean i know that no matter what, its difficult to come across that one person who's very informational and can answer all of your questions.... but at least if i try while in canada the chances of me getting an answer even close to what i want to hear are much higher than they are while i am here in the united states. ive had my experiences with calling CIC, believe me.... trying to call for an entire day and never getting through no matter how many times you try to get to an operator. it's hit or miss i guess.

try to call first thing in the morning, and if you can understand a little bit of french, try to choose the french options - i have heard that it's easier to get through... at the end of the line, the person will speak both french and english so you can answer in english, but statistically there are more english speakers than French speakers emigrating to Canada, so you might have a better chance...
Good luck!

this might sound like a stupid question, but are we all supposed to receive a second letter of receipt when the application reaches the second country where the applicant lives?? I received a letter of receival from Canada, then approval of sponsorship, but i was told then i wouldnt receive any letters until more information is requested, or until a decision was made.....does anyone know?
i can see on the spreadsheet AOR from visa office....is this in every visa office? maybe in Brazil they dont send a letter??
afraid of the application getting lost...

Hi erinblaak

Not every Visa Office sends out an AOR. Have faith it has arrived and I have heard of others who send a case specific email inquiry after two months to confirm their application was recieved. But that is personal choice. I would check other spreadsheets and see what other Brazil applicants have found. It will giev a good view of what other VO's do as well.

Congrats, and good luck on stage 2!
one week but more than one day progress, as quite a few of december applicants have received news as well, so it's not as straightforward as that... it should be most probably, but it's not... that's why the website is confusing and in a way the spreadsheet are a better source of information!

thanks Sweden! we were talking there is a Nov/Dec box and they can grab whatever they want so our beginning of Nov applicants' envelops were sleeping at the bottom. now lots of Dec applicants files are gone, finally they can reach ours.

Congrats to you and your hubby! I have updated the spreadsheet for you! Here's hoping for a quick stage 2!

It really sucks, and your not alone. We are also waiting, waiting, waiting & we also applied early Nov. Atleast your in America and can visit your Husband. I am in Australia and havent seen my husband for 5 months. I think its best to be patient, you have tried emailing and ringing with no results and it seems your really stressing yourself out. If you havent anything by the end of the month, then give them some herbs and shake up again, thats our plan. Approval dates are all over the place and I think we just have to accept that we are some of the unlucky ones at the moment for sponsor approval. Its not fair but its just the way it is. We are at the mercy of immigration workers, so maybe just take a breath and chill. Your approval will come, its just a matter of time. Good luck to you Bscinto92, i feel your pain. xx

I sent my application off in late November and it was definitely received (I sent it by registered mail). I'm doing an inland application and have seen that the first stage takes around 6 months. Everyone has been talking about tracking their application.. Is that something I can only do once it has gone to stage 2? I tried to find my application with my Receipt number and with my client ID, but couldn't find anything. Help? ;)

Hi RebeccaF,
My understanding is you can access ecas when they have put your application into the system. It took me over three weeks to access ecas only to see it say we have recieved your application. I would keep trying, or ask in the inland thread. It may be a different process out of Vegreville. My best advice is be patient and try again!
