I can add you. Can you please provide me with the date you submitted your application, when it was recieved by CIC, when your medicals were done, your VO and if you have recieved your AOR or sponsor approval.

Sent my application nov.13 express mail.
They received it nov14th.
Sponsorship approved on Dec 17th and letter was mailed out
Letter received by my lawyer in January. Not sure when he got it
N the visa office is Ottawa I think.

Because in the letter they said they sent it off to the visa office abroad for processing and if I need any info or have to send any documents I must send it to cct Ottawa n the address was there.


I hope we all get through by summer.....

Ok my husband did his medical on October 10th. Sorry I forgot to mention that. He did it here in Canada do u think that would be a problem for a Outland application ? I hope not :-(

As far as I have heard it does not matter where the medical is done as long as it is done with a recommended doctor. They all get processed the same and sent to the VO. I am sure it will be fine, and if not they will tell you and ask for it to be redone

Has anyone received a letter requesting medical to be done. I tried to get mine done on Nov. 1ST and they said I have to use the new form with bar codes specific to my file sent out by Canada.

I have received my Sponsorship approval today. It was mailed January 7th.. so CIC is working and hopefully everyone else will hear good news soon!

Congratulations to those who have their sponsorship approvals recently.

bscinto92 if you can, try to call CIC. I think you have your first stage done. When we were waiting for the first stage, there was no "medical received". It popped up when we had the sponsorship approval. I really understand how you feel. May god bless you.

i have tried numerous times to call CIC... the 1 888 242 2100 number doesn't work from outside the US.... so i called the number that everyone else has given me and followed the prompt as instructed and eventually it tells me "this number cannot be reached from my calling area." so i hit 5 instead and wait for an employee and they say they can't tell me anything (or at least thats what i thought she said she was speaking french for the most part so i could barely understand her) ... so then i called the consulate general of new york..... they cant give me information either. it's SO SO SO frustrating just to try and get in touch with these people!!!!! it's a simple question, are they working on my application or have we passed stage one approval yet? yes or no? why can't they tell me? i e-mailed 3 different e-mail addresses and that was last week .... no reply still. so i emailed the ottpilot-immigration e-mail that they provide on cic.gc.ca, and still NOTHING. nothing at all. i'm done with trying to contact them until i go to canada this saturday, because its a waste of the time and the more i do it and the less i get through the more frustrated and worrisome i get.... do you think if when i get to canada on saturday (toronto pearson international) i can ask a customs officer if they can fill me in on what's going on here? they have a little computer behind their desks that they do god knows what on, so maybe they can look into the system somehow?

My opinion is the customs officer wouldn't have that information. I would say when you call just keep on calling till you get somebody nice, somebody will tell you.

the thing is i dont even know what visa office theyre sending my application to.... i'm assuming it's ottawa because on one section of my application i chose buffalo since ottawa wasn't an option, and obviously anything that went to buffalo got forwarded to ottawa, unless i'm wrong about that. but at the same time, there's a visa office right in new york, not very far away from me that i put down on another form because it gave me the option to just write whatever i wanted instead of check off one from a list... so i wrote "New York, New York or CPP-O" ... seems like every time i call anyone of the numbers that i have i get the same person though.

tried that one several times. if i follow the prompt you provided it tells me the number i am trying to call cannot be reached from my calling area. i press 5 instead because if you press 5 you get to talk to an employee. i will try one more time and if i dont get a straight answer i;m giving up on this calling thing.



EDIT: just called the number and tried two different options and they told me there is literally no way that they can tell me by phone and that i'll just have to e-mail them and wait. i have already e-mailed them, more than once. so i guess ill have to wait for a reply which is unlikely to happen before i get to canada again.
