Hi all! I am sponsoring my husband Outland as we live in Israel. We sent the package on November 14th...I will never forget that day to finally get it out in the post...what a relief!! I wonder how they sent AOR notification. Anyone know? Anyways, will keep u updated. Good luck to all!

BeccaShar: Welcome! What I have understood is that usually you hear from them when they approve the sponsor, and get AOR when the VO receives the application. Actually, I just saw that Sweden wrote about this on this thread yesterday, you should read it

Im an October applicant and I received my AOR via Email (Client-update-mise-a-jour@cic.gc.ca) ,and from what im reading on the forum some people here received their approved by Email and some are receiving by snail mail ,havent received mine hoepfully very soon.Last week the approval time frame was 35 days and now its gone up 37 days so Im just waiting patiently.Good Luck and patience to you ande everyone who is inthe same boat

I was over in the October applicant forum because I mailed my application on the 27th. But I guess I should be checking in here as my application arrived at CIC via tracking Nov 8th.. ;D Judging from the times in the October spreadsheet we should start receiving AOR's anyday and Sponsorship approval soon after..........I hope,,,,, :-X

haha ...I checked as well on Wednesday but they updated it on Thursday, they are looking at Oct 10...I am guessing Nov will start first or second week of Dec ....

If you look at the october spreadsheet you will see that they have processed applications recieved oct 26th so I don't think the update they give at the CIC website is very accurate.....and now it is saying they are processing applications recieved oct 15th which is still behind the times.

I am a Nov Applicant too.

My husband sent ours off on the 26th of Oct from Alberta, so I imagine it would be early Nov when they recieved it. Look forward to sharing this experience with you all. Nice to have some understanding support.

Hi all! Just thought i'd let you know i am IN CANADA!! WOOO HOOOO!!!! feels so good to be back here, i missed my husband to death but i also missed this city tons too. I also wanted to tell you guys.... that after all of my freaking out and preparing for crossing the border was basically pointless. I made sure i grabbed all the documents i needed, like the confirmation that the package arrived in missisauge and the reciept for the fee's (i figured i'd rather be safe than sorry, right?).... aaaaaaaaaaand, i get to customs at pearson international and didn't even get asked ONE question. Not even a hi, hello, how are you? NOTHING! the guy didn't even look at me lol, he just grabbed my passport threw a stamp in there and sent me on my way. i got myself all ready to explain my situation and was so excited to talk about everything and tell them how we're going through with spousal sponsorship... and nothing. LOL. figures.... but oh well, maybe itll be different on the way back into the states?

haha- What a let down! At least you prepared yourself for the worst! Hope you are enjoying your time back in Canada... I am counting the days til my fiance and I are back there for good

Hey bo12,

If you are applying inland, indeed the applicant can not travel. If you are applying outland ( and I suppose you are, otherwise you would be with your husband!) the sponsor and the applicant can travel in and out of Canada without any risks for the application. The only thing is: if you are Canadian (as a sponsor) you can stay out of Canada the whole time, if you are a PR of Canada, you can only stay for short period of times as you are supposed to stay in Canada for the process... but a holidays of 2 weeks for example is not a problem at all - and if the sponsors goes to visit the applicant outside of Canada, make sure you keep all the proofs of that, so for stage 2, if you are asked for more proofs about the relationship, you can add these...
