[size=10pt]Hi roxaida,

Nothing is lost or gone. You could be amongst those who should be delighted with this announcement.

The rules are effective 5 November 2011, which means that any applications filed prior to that date (i.e. before 5 Nov) will be processed as per the old rules. I.e. your application will be subject to the rules which were in force at that time. NO CHANGE.

In fact there may be some good news for you, depending upon which stage of processing it is in. Due to the faster processing of the current back log, which was part of the same changed rules announcement - your wait time may significantly reduce and integration with your parents / grandparents will be faster than previously anticipated.

This may perhaps be the reward for your prompt action in processing the papers etc.

Good luck!

[size=10pt][size=10pt]p.s. you can access the full official announcement and its 'steps' through the below link:

the supervisa sound to me as if its like a tourist visa. kenney says, no medical insurance for the parents and grand parents. :-( he also declared, they cant work here in canada...

what bugging me is, we filed for petition for our parents last march 2009. my question is: if this supervisa is true, how about the petition and the fees we made? its all gone?

enlighten me please... :-( im so worried...

I saw a big change in my ecas today. It used to be Decision Made for Sponsorship application and In Process for PR application for my mother. This when I checked I saw both of them are in progress which freaked me out. Am I going backwards with this application?

Anyways I have called CIC right away and luckily got hold of them. They have told me that as I moved from Quebec and now live in Ontario, I need to fill out IMM1344, financial evealuation form etc. They have mailed an application kit last week. I have no idea whether it means starting the application from scratch or not!

Also an old and many times answered question, if we are family of 2 ( my wife and I) and sponsoring my mother and sister, what is the minimum income I need to show? I have an amount in mind, but just wondering it is right or not!

Thank you all!

Hi bloomfield,

I was wondering what other documents did you got in mail from CIC. Also, whether there is "generic document checklist (Annex A)" attached to the letter? if yes can you please name those documents which they request from you along with new forms as they require those for further processing.

Thanks

I have not received the mail yet. It was mailed out last Friday. I am expecting to receive it anytime this week. I will let you know once I do.

thank you for immediate reply bloomfield!

by the way, the one you said... They have told me that as I moved from Quebec and now live in Ontario, I need to fill out IMM1344, financial evealuation form etc. They have mailed an application kit last week. I have no idea whether it means starting the application from scratch or not!

i wanna share you the latest news i found out... it says like this... :

Starting mid-November 2011, CPC-M will begin sending letters to sponsors with the oldest sponsorship applications in the inventory, requesting the submission of the IMM 0008 for their parent(s) or grandparent(s) with all supporting documentation, as detailed in the generic document checklist (Annex A). This generic checklist will accompany the letter. The “complete” application will be submitted to CPC-M and if found complete, a file will be created in the Global Case Management System (GCMS).

In the letter to sponsors, they will be given 90 days to comply with the request. They will also be informed that should the requested documents not be received at CPC-M within the 90-day time frame, we will determine that the sponsor is no longer interested in bringing their parent(s) or grandparent(s) to Canada and their application will be closed. Should the application be closed, CPC-M will send a letter to the sponsor informing them of the decision that was rendered and outlining their options.

If the application is received within the 90-day time frame but there is missing information or documentation, the entire application will be returned to the sponsor with a letter. They will be advised that they have 30 days to return the application with the missing elements; otherwise, the application will be closed.

Following file creation, the file will be assigned to an officer to review sponsorship eligibility. If found eligible, or if the sponsor has opted to proceed if found ineligible, the file will be forwarded to the relevant visa office for processing.

In keeping with CIC's modernization agenda to move toward increased processing of applications from within Canada and with the implementation of GCMS, a portion of these FC4 applications will be processed from within Canada at the Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa (CPP-O). If at any time during processing it is determined that local knowledge is required, the file will be forwarded to the relevant visa office for processing and final decision.

Medical instructions will continue to be requested by the visa office or CPP-O.

For eligible sponsorships already referred to visa offices for which an application has been received:

For parent(s) or grandparent(s) who have already submitted their application for permanent residence to the visa office, they will be sent a letter from the mission requesting any updated or missing documents. They will be given 60 days to comply with the request or the application will be refused.

If after 60 days the visa office has not received the requested documents, the applicant will be sent a refusal letter.

If within the 60 days the visa office has received some, but not all documents, the applicant will be sent a letter giving them an additional 30 days to comply or the application will be refused. Following the additional 30 days, the applicant will be sent a refusal letter.

so, i think, you're not going to process from scrath... instead, they going to start the supervisa! :)

im happy for you man!

I have received a letter from CPC-M regarding my mother's application, dated Nov 18,2011:

They have requested following documents as I have moved from Quebec to Ontario. "Following documents are required prior to finalization of the application for your relative(s)".
IMM 1344B (attached)--to be completed by myself and my mother.
IMM1283 (attached)--Financial Evaluation form to be completed
Eligibility form-- to be completed
Option C print out for 2010
T1 General,all T4/T5 for 2010
Letter of Employment
All paystubs for last 12 months
Any other income statement if applicable.

They gave 90 days to return all above documents.

It also has mailing label included with officer's initial on it.

Now it's time to put it all together.

I will keep you all posted.

Some people seem to be confusing things...

Super visa hasn't started yet. All those people getting letters now about the parent/grandparent sponsorship are still in the process of their sponsorship just the way it was before, with some minor changes. One of them is the fact that it's freakin' fast now.

Super Visa is only available starting Dec 1st, and as far as it's logical only to those who actually apply for it. Not for people who applied before Nov 5th 2011 for Family Class Sponsorship, those will still have their cases processed.
