Most of my friends would just be happy if their husband would change a diaper.

Just got home from my first night of CPR/First Aid training. VERY embarrassing that I got volen-told to have a "choking reaction" and get helmiched!
On topic though, I could NEVER do cloth diapers. I'm already freaking about if/when I have a son and have to decide to get IT snipped or not! And how to care for it!!![]()

I'm personally torn on the issue. I really dislike the idea of making an irreversible personal decision for someone else, even my own child. I feel the same way about little girls getting their ears pierced. I've studied the benefits and drawbacks of the male issue and I agree there are definitely health benefits. (And I'm scared by some of the horror stories!) That being said, I'd rather that type of decision be made by the person that has to live with it.

I love how my simple cloth diaper sentence has brought up so much chatting! On the how do I wash them I dump out the solids.. I never scrape but if they are bad I have a hose that attached to the toilet so I do spray them.. and washing I just use a mixture of equal parts of oxi-clean, baking soda and washing soda. The reason you don't use soap is because it will coat the fibers and then the diaper will repel the moisture instead of soak it up. Our diapers pretty much look like normal diapers and then have an insert that goes inside of a pocket and it all snaps on my daughter instead of velcro. Also we have saved big time on the cloth! I went with a company that ships direct from the manufacturer in China and spent around $5/diaper so for our stash(technical cloth diapering term...lol) I spend around $140ish for my stash of 28 diapers and that has me doing a diaper load of wash every other day and I hang mine to dry so I have enough to last the day that it takes for the others to dry.amikety said:I don't know if this is an option in Canada, but I've heard in the USA if you get a rabbi to do it, it's cheaper.
