My husband (sponsor) is retired and his main source of income is his pensions such as Military pension, OAS pension, WSIB and Canda pension. I read on one part of the application that if he is in social assistance he may not be eligible to be a sponsor. Just wondering what are the documents or things we can submit to increase our chances getting approve for the application?

He has a good amount of savings in his bank. Will that help increase our chances? And if you could share other tips that can help us increase our chances as well it will really be a big help.

Thank you so much.

Really depends on how much income he receives on a monthly basis and his amount of savings. It also appears as though he is disabled so his costs may also be a factor.

As long as he receives enough to be able to support the applicant, it shouldn't be a problem. As we all know, there is no minimum income requirement (unless that has changed).

No income requirement but must be able to show they can afford to care for themselves and then also be able to care for their spouse.
