As long as we're discussing proposals and what not...
Three days after I met my baby, I told her, "you don't realize it yet, but you're gonna marry me". Needless to say, she was left speechless and somewhat in shock. She didn't know whether to chalk it up to the fact that I was crazy, or just joking with her to get a reaction. She knew next to nothing about me at that point, however, I was absolutely convinced she was the one I wanted to be with. So 46 days later when she told me she was in love with me, I just grinned and said, "Phase one...complete". She didn't know what I meant...but after about three seconds it clicked, and she started laughing and playfully swatting me.
I'll be proposing later this spring, and we'll be getting married sometime in the summer or early fall. I'm putting an enormous amount of work into the proposal, so it's not something to be rushed. I want it to be completely unique, unlike anything anyone has ever done before, and nothing cheesy that she would've seen a million times on TV or movies. It's a lot of work (mostly research and timing that has to be precise down to the second). But I'm hoping the end result will leave a memorable impression with her and with a story she will always be able to reminisce about in the decades to come.
I've never proposed to anyone before, and this will be the only time I'm doing it, so I want it to be done right. It's all part of my lovable nature.
