I know this is no big deal to most of you BUT......there is FINALLY some movement on my ECAS, the PA sided changed to In Progress and another line was added, that they started to process the application on Sept 14th.
The weird thing is the Cairo office has been closed all week due to Eid Adha (closed from Fri Sep 9th until today, they should reopen tomorrow). SO how did they start processing the application?? and as per my SA email the VO should have gotten the file over a month ago (email was dated on August 12th).

I am So confused. At least the timeline for the whole process went down another month (& of course the SA was cut in half to 29 days).

Oh well, any change is a step forward.

According to their website (Canadian Embassy in Cairo), they were closed on Sept. 13 but open on the Sept.14 and 15. That extra line on ECAS means that they actually started processing your application on that date even though it may have been received earlier by them.

Oh wow, thanks for that info......I'm quite surprised they were actually open since all of Egypt was pretty much closed down (except the malls). I hope that is a good sign then I don't think there are many applications there at the moment, or at least I'm hoping that is the case Thanks again for that

Yes, Ecas says Medical results have been received and MyCIC says Medicals passed. Eligibility has been in progress since August 17 (SA), medicals passed, documents is blank, interview is not needed at this time, and background check is not started.

Hi! This happened to me too! I originally sent my application in on May 20th and it was returned to me, saying I was missing documents for my "inland" application. Even though I had clearly written everywhere it was Outland and had done the Outland forms. I had to resend it in, and send in letters requesting I be put back in the queue on my original date. That never happened and I've now been processed as a June 29th applicant. All because THEY messed up, not me. Sorry it happened to you too

I'm sorry that's happened to you, but I'm also glad that it got resolved! Even if it's a little later than intended, it's still getting processed properly now. That means that hopefully my application can get re-filed without an issue. I contacted our MP and I'm hoping they will add an extra bit of pressure to resolve this faster but I honestly just want there to be progress in the right direction. I just want to be home with my spouse for good as my Christmas present!

Why my Medical is still "not needed "" why why why ??? ???

Quick question, we have to fill out IMM5669 again, since they didn't get our first one for some reason.

And Where the dates are input, since we can't put 'present' we must put a date (the date it was signed or leave it blank)??

Example:

2012-07-12 to present (is what we put on the old form but you can't type present you have to put a date or leave it blank)

What would you do???

Do you have the option of printing it out and writing in 'present'?

June 21st application here - was transferred to Ottawa... Yesterday I received ano email from the CIC, logged in to find the permanent residency line on MyCIC that I linked now says approved, and ecas shows decision made!

I'm absolutely losing it!

I REALLY hope that this means the rest of you will all see movement as soon as possible. Stay strong!

We had to refill our IMM5409, and we signed it to present.

So did you hand write it on?? I'm Just curious because we were able to type present on it but can only put dates now, the form looks different as well (although the form it'self wasnt updated)

Well, they are all legal forms, so you should just write the date that you signed it.

Sorry, I guess you misunderstood what I was originally asking, on the forms it is asking to provide details of personal history for the past 10 years. For example:

From To
01-2016 ??-? ?? <-----do we put todays date in or leave it blank or handwrite in 'present', since we can't type anything but a date in
03-2010 12-2015
01-2006 02-2010

I hope that makes more sense
