my husband,my sponsor did not received any mail nor email as well. i am visa exempt so i thought its gonna be faster but already i am nervous as still no news..

Hey everyone,

First time posting here. I am starting to get really nervous about my application due to the lack of communication. All I've gotten is the following:

We received your application to sponsor [NAME] on June 24, 2016.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on July 14, 2016.

And then obviously on the PA side, it just says they received the application on July 14, 2016.

I'm seeing people that have already gotten DM and submitted it after me?? I thought this would go quickly as I am a US citizen but could it be slower because we are common-law and not married???

I'm not sure what to do at this point. Is this normal or should I call them tomorrow? Also, who would I call? I'm so lost!

Hi. Im working in tim hortons. Im gonna request the proof of employment but she is out of the country. Can my supervisor sign the letter? Is it a big issue to the immigration?

The third line on the PA side is usually an indicator that the sponsor has been approved and they are working on the PA side. The next thing to look for is the status to change to Decision Made. I'm sure it will be soon if you don't have any red flags.

I am unsure if the common law slows things down a bit.

I would call. It has been past the time you should have heard something about sponsor approval. The number is...

Red flags include but are not limited to:
age difference
religion difference
different cultural backgrounds
previous marriage
quick marriage
short cohabitation (especially if couple met online and hasn't spent much time physically together)
lack of proof of relationship

So I just heard over the phone that they filed my application as inland! WHAT. I just sent a request to re-file it as an outland application. I'm not sure how this happened as I was very careful about having the appropriate forms and documents...

Has this happened to anyone else??

I really hope they can fix this. I don't want to wait a whole YEAR!

same here june 13 applicant but I think it's not a issue. Some people get medical received line some don't. I think they don't update with all.

Hi! This happened to me too! I originally sent my application in on May 20th and it was returned to me, saying I was missing documents for my "inland" application. Even though I had clearly written everywhere it was Outland and had done the Outland forms. I had to resend it in, and send in letters requesting I be put back in the queue on my original date. That never happened and I've now been processed as a June 29th applicant. All because THEY messed up, not me. Sorry it happened to you too

Today myCIC changed to "in progress" on the "background check is needed portion. Previously it had said "not started"...is this background check just them reviewing my FBI stuff? The application was transferred to Ottawa on August 22nd.

I know this is no big deal to most of you BUT......there is FINALLY some movement on my ECAS, the PA sided changed to In Progress and another line was added, that they started to process the application on Sept 14th.
The weird thing is the Cairo office has been closed all week due to Eid Adha (closed from Fri Sep 9th until today, they should reopen tomorrow). SO how did they start processing the application?? and as per my SA email the VO should have gotten the file over a month ago (email was dated on August 12th).

I am So confused. At least the timeline for the whole process went down another month (& of course the SA was cut in half to 29 days).

Oh well, any change is a step forward.
