Side note, anyone know if we can get BC MSP using the OWP??

BC MSP want to see that the applicant's portion of the sponsorship package is `in-process', which is NOT what their own website says. It says that once CIC has accepted for processing an application...blah blah blah". And, nothing about having an OWP that I'm aware of, but...who knows!

CIC accepts the application for processing when they receive it in the sponsorship package, correct?!

I know, they are f***ing with me since last May, and I already tried everything except the Ombudsperson, that (surprise!) has a huge backlog, so won't be able to help soon.

But I found this about the work permit:

Certain other individuals, such as some holders of study and/or work permits, or working permits on working holiday programs — which are issued under the federal Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and are valid for a period of six or more months — may be deemed residents.

It says some holders, so you are right, they can deny if they want, but others from the facebook group were successful obtaining coverage and I believe that temporary foreign workers also has coverage.
We will see... and they will see a furious Hungarian if they deny me again...

Since CIC is performing so poorly, I extrapolated a bit to see when I should expect AIP:

Looks like I should get AIP sometime in September 2017, provided they don't do any worse than they are right now.

Think cic easy..them just add two days ..from sep 10,2013 to september 12, 2013....more time add on out side 90 days now hmm

No, but the truth is that you were eligible for MSP within 3 months after CIC received your Inland application.
Unfortunately, most of the employees at BC MSP seem to think that you have to wait until you have AIP before you are eligible,
but they are mistaken.
Only a handful of us have been successful in our fight for coverage prior to AIP.

I wonder is it going to help if we attached the above link to BC MSP telling them we did are "in progress" even our application status is only "application received"? They kept telling me to print out the e-Cas status which is showing the date start processing my apps -_-

This is the part that they just don't seem to understand.

The spousal sponsorship application, is really two applications; one to sponsor and one to apply for PR, that make up the `process'. Because of this...if the first part is IN-PROCESS, that also means that the second part is IN-PROCESS...just as if a train with only one car attached to it is moving down the track, BOTH are `in-process' of reaching the end of the trip.

BC MSP doesn't seem to be too knowledgeable when it comes to this particular PR stream...which is tragic.

This fits with my calculations too... how DEPRESSING!!! Why oh why won't the government authorize hiring more positions - this is BRUTAL!

So I've heard CPC-M has hired extra overnight staff to work on Inland applications ... but I think they are only working on OWP...

What they need to do is dissolve their union.

The union disallows them from hiring additional workers unless they only work for a few months during the year.
This scenario means that all their temporary help basically learns to do the job efficiently just in time to be let go.

I know someone that works there. Apparently they only do 4 month contracts and rarely hire full timers.

Powerful Union makes sure the slow and lazy full timers are comfortable
