Coming to Canada during Covid and Quarantine Requirements

Yeah, that's why I'm looking to see what experiences others are having with this. It seems to change by the day and is different in every municipality, but it'd be great to have an idea of what to expect. I'm hoping they don't ask me to put my 4-year-old on the phone, or physically verify that...

Coming to Canada during Covid and Quarantine Requirements

Hello folks, been a while. I am wondering if there are any forums regarding what to expect during the "arrived in Canada quarantine period". Things change daily, and apparently the experience we had a month ago is already outdated. Back in May I have a friend who had police officers "dropping...

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

The impossible has happened. We finally received our PR card. Thank you again to all the folks at this forum for providing the only intelligible information available on the subject of immigration. A hearty no-thank-you to every bumbling useless idiot at CIC responsible for handing our files...

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

Canada Post indicates 2 days within city, 3 days with Province, and 4 days within Canada. Since they had the genius idea to have the PR card office in Nova Scotia (a place that likely gets 1% of the PRs that Ontario does) that means they have 4 days of mailing time. Why they ever say it could...

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

278 days and counting. I hope CIC burns down.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

They say: "We are just too plain stupid to make your PR card, tell you why, or give you a timeline. Just plain old dumb." At least that's what I assume they are saying, I can't really understand the squeakings of dolphins.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Yes, that's exactly what I've been saying. I might as well apply for a new one instead of wait for this one.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Of course not. It's only been 276 days.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Extremely believable. I landed October 9, 2015. Card has been approved, waiting to be printed. Now that's unbelievable.

    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

+1 for you, poor soul, for you are in the same boat as I. The boat of pain and rage. I vehemently despise CIC. They are the laziest sack of dung on the planet. They are so unimaginably poorly managed that I doubt they could accomplish anything at all. Seeing that they have absolutely no way...

PR card sent by canada post?

When I applied for PR the wait time for phase 1 was 8 months. I sent an inquiry after 10 months of radio silence (no AOR), the auto-reply said to expect a response within 30 days. I got a response after 4 months that was basically copy pasted from somewhere to the tune of "you're within normal...

PR card sent by canada post?

The place that makes the PR cards is in Nova Scotia, so somewhere along the way they're getting mailed, and I'm betting they're using Canada Post or nothing.

PR card sent by canada post?

CIC? Seriously? Those useless sacks of garbage? The same ministry that can't even be bothered to process applications in order of receipt? The same ministry that doesn't even know if an application was *sent* to them until processing times are elapsed and an MP checks on them? I would be...

PR card sent by canada post?

Interestingly, I did exactly that. The agent directed me to "the form". I use quotations because to my dismay there was no inquiry for "lost/missing PR card", only for "request urgent processing of renewal PR card" and "replacement and renewal PR card". I forced the agent to stay on the phone...

PR card sent by canada post?

For starters I've contacted CIC every 30 days since going beyond the normal processing time. That means I've called about 7 different days. They say a lot of different things. They say that we were negligent and sent the wrong photos (which we didn't, we sent the correct photos). They say that...

PR card sent by canada post?

I've often suspected the same of myself, that I'm secretly insane and can't live without a reason to hate CIC. Not that any breathing person doesn't have a legitimate reason to hate them anyway.

PR card sent by canada post?

If you think there is something I can do about it you must not be someone who has applied for sponsorship. Ask anyone who landed between October 1, 2015 and January 3, 2016. Whom have been waiting an extra 200 days for their PR cards so far. Ask anyone who applied for sponsorship in March 2014...

PR card sent by canada post?

Who really cares? Even if Canada Post goes on strike for an insane 4 months (Postal strikes never really go over 40 days) it's still just a drop in the bucket compared to how long CIC is making some people wait for PR cards. I'll probably never get my PR card anyway.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

Just for reference, CIC processed September 2014 applications before they processed March 2014 applications, so they go up to 6 months out of order. Too bad you didn't submit 3 months later, you'd be done by now.

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

I say that because it's obvious. They can't even tell people when their applications have arrived, can't even file applications according to date. They literally spend 16 months determining if the sponsor is dead or not. So they create a program designed to hand out work permits to everyone...
