Hey folks,
So I ordered GCMS notes:

Under Assessments, I see the following:
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed

Details on Criminality:
Created Date: 2015/05/05
Status: Not Started
Assigned To: RC957
Due Date:: 2015/06/03

Seems like the Criminal check was due in June for a CIC staff to work on, but has not started yet. Has anyone come across anything like this and tried the call centre staff for help or should we just wait?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Date Application Received according to CIC: Feb 4, 2014
Date AOR Received: May 22, 2014
Sponsorship approval: May 7, 2015
Approval of the applicant (full AIP): May 7, 2015
Requested Medical and second police clearance received by CIC end of May 2015

I also got my case notes and the interesting part was that my medical was valid until August 2016 and I've done it in August 2014. So they can extend it now up to two years I guess.

Dear All,

Out of curiosity, does anyone have an idea of average waiting time for LANDING interview date with CIC Etobicoke Office?

Hello all,

I am planning to sponsor my spouse soon. She is in india and I am in Ontario. I wanted to sponsor her as an outland applicant because it is faster. However, she insists to come to Canada on her own through her employer. Once she is in Canada, I sponsor as an inland applicant. Can anyone please tell me what is the approximate processing time currently. cic website says 26 months total. Have read news articles about huge delays for inland applicants.

If she is working in Canada with a valid work permit, can she leave and reenter Canada while the PR application is in process?

CIC website is not clear whether we can apply as an outland applicant while she is working in Canada?
thanks in advance.

2014 November Applications

Just being curious, I have been following the spreadsheet and it looks like CIC was processing Sep and Oct applications early. But why they stopped all of sudden at Nov 2014 applications?
Anyone knows?

It could be that CIC are focusing on processing 25000 refugees by end of the year. Yes, it seems that liberals have placed the spouses / CL PR processing on the backburner until the 25000 refugees are processed first.

I have a question since I'm still waiting for my landing interview (6.5weeks).
I have applied this year for the OWP and got it sent back to me end of september because I forgot one signature. I have immediately signed and sent it back. Since my current work permit will expire by the end of November, am I still under implied status even though I had to re-send the application?

Plus, they haven't processed June, July and August at ALL.

The fact that I applied in September but got my file returned because of a stupid mistake makes me mad, maybe I would be done by now. Can't wait until they process all the missing months then get to December haha

As long as CIC received your second aplication (with all the signatures and correct fees), you will be under implied status once your current status run out (given that your current work permit is extendable).

Oh man, so that's the kicker I guess. My current work permit is the 'Young Professional' visa and that is limited to 1 year and that is my second time using a IEC VISA. So that means I have to stop working, restoring my status and wait until I get an answer from either the PR or the OWP?
Wow, that's basically my worst case!

If you're waiting for your landing appointment, that means you've already received DM, correct?

If so, you don't need the OWP at all! You'll land long before the OWP would be received anyway!
As a matter of fact, you should request a refund for the OWP ASAP.
