I haven't seen any cases whereby the applicant was able to get OHIP before AIP. We had a hard time getting OHIP with just the email AIP. Had to write to review board to qualify.

Hi All, someone posted this and i decides to copy it just to have an idea of the answer
"One of the things CIC will ask you in an interview is what will happen if they refuse his PR application? What will you do?"

A friend of mine is going for landing interview on Monday.

Thanks all

No. It's merely one of the questions that they MAY ask your friend.

They have an endless list of questions to choose from.

If your friend thinks about it, it's not that difficult to answer, right?

It was saying write to
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/review.aspx
OERC (Ohip Eligibility Review Committee)
Stating current application for PR.

Ironically my spouse (the applicant) was asked this question going through immigration at the airport. That was before we made the application. The answer we gave was "We will move somewhere else." The officer then said: "Don't worry. You will get it." Of course the officer at the border won't be the one making the decision in PR application; but our thought is for real to move to another country if this application fails.

Yes. And one of the qualifications to qualify is a written letter from CIC stating that you qualify for PR which is an AIP. An AOR letter only addresses the sponsor, not the applicant. OHIP is pretty strict in qualifications for OHIP.

Hello!

My husband IEC work permit expired on May 16 this year. We sent our application last year in nov but they returned in February due to some silly form being outdated (seriously 4-5 months to send it back) so we sent everything again on march 15th. We haven't received AOR but on the letter that came with the returned application said that if we didn't get a owp or visitor or study permit my husband would have to pay for a status fee or something that costs $200. Since we like saving money (I work at Royal Bank) and I just think its silly to pay extra money for things that can be avoidable. And because we like the peace of mind that comes with having a status we applied for his visitor extension. We applied online on May 15 at lie 11:55 pm. We got his extension document in the mail a few days ago. We are so happy he got it until May 16 2015. I hope it doesn't mean he wont have AIP or OWP until then. But at least it gives us wiggle room. Now we can apply for a VISA outside of canada for him to travel.

I just hope we get AIP soon.

Just letting people know of how things are turning out.

Thanks

I applied for PR in January. Unfortunately I fell seriously ill, I went to see a physician who asked me to do ultrasounds and analyzes then referred me to a specialist and all this issue costs really expensive to my husband. I wonder if I can be eligible for OHIP before getting the AIP.

Unfortunately you won't be eligible for OHIP before AIP stage. Only when you get AIP and you would get coverage 3 months after AIP date.

Hi All,

I just want to share this info to anyone thinking about going out of the country when you already sent an inland application. We went out for 2 weeks and returned safely to Canada without any issue at all at the border. The officer only asked if we had applied for the PR and when did we send the application. We didn't even have to go to the secondary check. Hopefully this gives some hope and lessen the worry some of us might have when we had to go out during the application process. However, take note that it might also be because of our situation, and the same thing might not apply for other people.

Here is our situation:
1. We travelled together for only 2 weeks.
2. I am a PR and my wife has a multiple entry visitor visa to Canada, expiring in 2017.
3. The declaration cards were submitted separately, mine as a Resident and hers as a Visitor.
4. She has visited Canada twice before and this is the 3rd time.

Other issues might not be relevant because it was not asked at the border.

Cheers.

book mark the google spread sheet for time lines.

i think the last person to get an AIP was from Sept 2013. But that was a very simple case technically they are still working on applications from July 10th 2013.

In the 2013 thread someone posted July 15th.
