At the landing interview, you will be a PR in Canada. You work permit will be void, as you don't need one anymore. You can start working right away, any job you qualify. Don't forget going to Service Canada to get permanent SIN. If you are currently working, make sure you update your...

    1. In theory, sponsorship is processed first. Once qualified, they will start PR application process. 2. Don't trust the online status. You are lucky to see "In Process". Lot of people only see "Received" even when they get landing interview. What's more useful is to click on the status and...

When CIC asked that, it also took me more than 30 days to receive it. What I did was: 1. Request the Police Certificate as soon as possible. 2. Keep a record of the request, such as curier record, any confirmation from the police department from the country requested 3. Write a letter to CIC...

The expiry date is not the deadline for landing. The document is the proof that you've already landed. Look to the left from "Expiry date". It is the expiry date of your travel document, which in most cases your passport.

18 months for me too. It's over now. In my case at the interview, the officer just want to hear from my own month on the spot to confirm I haven't committed any crime anywhere. That's it. If there's going to be any more questions, just be honest and I'm sure you will be fine. :)

That could be it. Does it say "The Canada Immigration Centre in xxx will contact you to arrange an appointment" or something like that? That's what we got. A few days later received the appointment schedule letter. The interview was simply the processing of landing. Get finger crossed...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

You don't need to wait for the return package to cancel the inland application. You can do that any time before DM. To start outland application, it doesn't matter if you are in status or not. To outland applicant, I don't think there is such concept as "implied status", as that only applies...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Per the request from CIC for Police Certificate, we had to travel to the country of my previous residency to get it, as doing it remotely is almost impossible, especially under the tight time frame. Just came back today. Told CBSA officer at the airport the reason of the trip and showed the...

Thanks Sohpieee. We have a copy of everything we sent. Guess we will just have to do what we are asked to do, but have to make sure all forms are up-to-date now. All forms in our initial application were the latest at the time of submission.

We are May 2014 applicant. Received email from CIC an hour ago requesting for Police Certificate and Medical. We didn't not submit either of those in our initial application. We are given 30 days. Fair enough. But in the letter it states "Your entire application package, along with all...

I might be wrong reading other postings. I have the same condition on my OWP. Probably because I haven't submitted any medical exam yet. CIC will request it when they need it. Medical exam expires in 12 months (although they might extend it at their own discretion.) With the processing...

To add more confusion (to myself, too), is from http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/austria-autriche/visas/faq.aspx?lang=eng#b4. Although the FAQ is for general purpose and not specific to the special cases like ours in this forum, wouldn't it still be true that "Even if we issue you with a...

What is stated on OWP has nothing to do with your medical exam for PR application. All what it means is that, as OWP holder, you cannot work in school or healthcare industry in Canada. That's it, regardless if you have PR application pending or not.

I don't think you can be in two different status at the same time. Once you receive OWP, you are not a "visitor" anymore; although still "temporary resident", as the WP has expiry date on it. It is well understood that re-entry may still be denied regardless one has a visa or not, need a visa...
