But a person without status has no choice but to wait until they get AIP. Even then, I don't know if they will be able to do it online, but hopefully they can.

I think everyone has to wait until they get AIP to be able to apply OWP online, or u have to submit it by mail:
"If an SCLPC applicant has already received approval in principle, they have the option of applying for an open work permit online."

September 19 13 applicant here today I received an email from cic requesting proof of cohabitation, PAY RPRF and proof that our relationship is on going what should I send ?? Help please

Send some documents that are sent in your current address ( both of you) any documents about joint account, bills . ID card that has the same address for you and your sponsor. Recent photos of you and him with close family members together.

Goodluck!

Didn't you receive the same letter a week ago?
Here is a list what you can think of, just send everything from the beginning of your relationship till today, doesn't matter if you already sent it

You can even email these documents and even send it through fax which is efficient. Most people send it through email and fax them too. It takes time to open documents that are send through paper mail.

.

CIC sucks! I will have to do my medical upfront in a couple of months.

I have a question... when we're talking about applicants from September 6th or September 10th is it from the date CIC received it or the date AOR was given? I'm just curious as I always assumed the former. :PP

It's the date CIC received the application. Same thing as on the CIC Processing Times chart so you assumed right :)

If an SCLPC applicant has already received approval in principle, they have the option of applying for an open work permit online.

But again, those applying for an OWP under the pilot program (long before they have AIP) must submit a paper application.

Great, I think it wouldn't be a big deal to apply online even you are out of status. One of the issues is the Questionaire, they will ask about your visa expiry date. When it's beyond restoration status, you can't qualify to apply. There's a person here in the website that applied online even his status was expired. He didn't put the visa expiry date on the eligibility Questionaire and manage to submit it. He was ok to apply as long as he has AIP. He was approved.

But...wouldn't that be a form of misrepresentation, by not disclosing that information on the application? Did he write in a date that wasn't truthful?

Bottom line, a person without status IS eligible AFTER AIP, so I don't see why he had to `fudge' the dates...unless he was trying to trick the online form?

Anyway, it's good that he was approved.
