Quick question....

How does the CIC normally contact you asking for additional forms or newer Medical/Police Checks as well as sending you the Work Permit after Stage 1 is complete?

The issue is because of the stupid amount of processing times, myself and my partner might be moving around to different locations (still living together) and we cant be forced to live in the same place just because the CIC are taking so long to process...

I can sign onto E-CAS and change my mailing address to my Laywers, so anything they do request will be sent there just in case I miss anything?

I have heard that even when you change it with CIC, and it is changed online AND at the call center, that quite often times mailings STILL go to the original address on file. Which has resulted in ppl having to do their whole application from the beginning, since they missed the deadline for sending in more info, or for their interviews, etc.

Try to avoid it if you can. You can change it online and with the call center to be safe, but that is clearly still no guarantee.

No worries though. Aren't you just planning to leave your partner as soon as possible after you get your PR (cuz I have seen you post about it before...)? >:(

Anyways, if you have your lawyer already appointed as your official representative, I am 90% sure (maybe someone with a lawyer will be more sure) that communications will go to your lawyer first anyways.

But I wouldn't think you can change YOUR personal address to your lawyers.....

Anyone with recent AIPs or DMs??

Just wondering...for anyone who has rec'd AIPs & DMs, did you ever hear of CIC contacting any of the ppl listed in your application? Like family, employers, people who wrote character reference letters? Just curious.

Partly because: I have a friend who wrote us a character reference letter, we have known each other for about 12 years, but since the time we sent the application in (LAST summer), we have had some serious issues and are no longer good friends, in fact we do not speak at all. I think regardless of our issues she wouldn't say anything bad to CIC about us if they did contact her, but she is pretty conniving, so it worries me somewhat. Her and her bf are also in quite a lot of our pictures too.

But besides that, was just curious. How closely do they really follow up on all the things we spend hours and hours and days writing out and putting together?!??? It seems like we put so much thought into all the little details, and when it comes down to it, they look at and process the whole application in about 1 day...lol

I am hitting the refresh on here even more than on my email, waiting to see someone get AIP!!! ARrrgggg!!!! :o :o :o Where are our AIPs today?!?!?

I've been on these forums a lot....but i have a stupid question.

what is TRV? temp res visa? what is that who needs it? whats it for?

I dont know why i dont know this hahaa. Are Pgwp and IEC's a type of trv? or is TRV something else?

YAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Looks like an Aug12th Applicant on the Facebook group just got AIP.

Says they got an email from CIC saying their are eligible under spouse and common law partner, but their Sponsor didn't get an email.

Doesn't really matter does it? It's still and Aug.12th AIP I believe!! :D

I sincerely hope you will get yours TODAY, too, ACS. That is for you and for people to see CIC is working to clear 2 days for each working day.

TRV is temporary resident visa - a sticker on your passport - to let you into Canada. You can only obtain a visa once you establish a valid status in Canada (i.e. student, worker etc.).

PGWP is a work permit/status that allows you to work in Canada.

A permit does not allow you to enter the country - visa does.

Woohoo!!! I should say that more often that it's quite here lol :P really happy to see an AIP again... I'm almost crying!! Let's speed it up CIC!

Wow August 12 applicant got AIP on facebook page!!! Common CIC keep the ball rolling!!! ;D

Happy to see one more AIP, but we really need to see more AIPs per day and week.
I'm a September applicant and every time I do the math with the current speed, it drives me crazy.
Imagine people who applied in 2014? How to trust the program? I really hope for a speed boost on the applications!
