Can we name it the Worst Year for Inland Sponsorship Processing in Canadian history? 14 months and up just for sponsorship eligibility. Wow!

And everyone who getting stuck in this limbo has been set up by God to be applying for this thing in the worst timeline ever.

And it takes them 43 days for SA <SponsorshipApproval> on Outland Apps!

Absolutely right. 43 days ONLY and they are workig on Sept 2. 2014 applications. Poor us INLANDERS L. looking forward for faster processing of stage 1. This is ridiculous

Hey all! Quick question, how were you contacted about your landing appointment, and how much notice were you given? We got DM 11 days ago. I know the average time from DM to landing is 39 days according to the google doc. But I'm worried they won't give me a tonne of notice and I'll be scrambling to get work off so I can accompany my husband on this most important day! I've been getting emails from CIC from the beginning of this process, but I'm curious if the office here will follow the same method.

Literally half an hour after I posted this, I got an email with the date and time of the landing interview. Haha!

Congrats!

Any idea why it took less than 8 months for your DM and subsequent landing interview date? Or is it truly as they say "an average" and it could be shorter or longer for any of us?

I think it all depends. Our first part of the application was very fast, I was surprised. This one went longer than I expected actually. Next month would've been 8 months, so I suppose it's an estimate and all depends on your officer! We even sent the medical separate from the application. When is your 8 months up?

I don't think you're comparing apples to apples though. Step 1 for outland applications is just assessment of sponsor, I don't believe they look at the relationship that thoroughly, that's done by the foreign CIC office. In any case current Stage 1 processing times for inland app are ridiculous.

Hi all,

If you have been listening to the news today, you will have heard that there has been a shooting at Parliament Hill today (which is an ongoing situation). A solider has been injured and reports are that one shooter has been shot, but there are possibilities of another. Most of the staff and Members of Parliament are in lock down. I think it is best that we do not contact our MPs on this day (and in the following days) as this is a very traumatic time for our government. My thoughts are with the people affected by this.

3rd time is the charm....RIGHT?!? :)

I agree, today they have bigger issues at hand. I'm very anxious myself, as my husband works in downtown Ottawa. I hope they find these guys soon...

Everyone is fine and the guy is in recovery, I would expect more of these at the rate that these processing times are going.

Don't be ridiculous and try to not connect us with this hostile and violent nonsense.

That isn't even funny...show some respect like a decent human being...

Everyone is not fine, the gunmen are still at large, and they don't know if the soldier is alive or dead at this point. Get a clue.

That you would even joke that people would do this kind of insane act because of processing times is a poor show of character.
