hey guys I was told by a few CIC agents that the Immigration officers working on our files update or follow up with our files every 2nd week of the month and if they have something they let us know.. just like mine Since Oct I've been told to call the 3rd week of every month if I don't hear an answer this month... or the following month. They are working on our files their just a bit busy... Have patience everyone it's just a matter of time I hope

My concern is. Why it takes so long to give AIP.

Since 13 March 2013. The sent a letter saying my file was transfer to local office in Montréal. Since then nothing happens. When I call they say my application is is in process but they can't say why is the delay.

I'm PR since Dec 2010. When I was accepted as refugee.

It takes a while for everyone to get AIP. The application process is not transparent so no one knows why it takes so long.

If your application was sent to the local office in Montreal this is because they might have questions about the validity of your relationship or maybe b/c you're a refugee. In any case, files sent to local offices seem to take even longer to process depending on the office. Best to call CIC and ask for processing time for Montreal.

Just a question...when looking at eCAS today, I noticed there were links under where the information for the sponsor was, and the links were information about applications filed when sponsoring someone outside of Canada. Should I be worried that they have our file in the system incorrectly or is this common?

Hi Daizey. No need to be worried. Ive noticed that before and i was worried too as i thought "maybe they took my app as outland". The letter i received last night also confirms that that in fact is just normal. Yay, we are inland applicants indeed!

Hahaha i am so not busy. Hubby is out of town and of course nothing much to do (whats new) so here i am watching tv, and writing down menu and grocery list for next week already. We aren't apst Dec.2013 in processing though....it's been stuck at June 25, 2013.

ACS ..i wanna give u one example ..if u have one Account firm and their got 5 thousand old files under process through ur staff and 5 thousand new files those ur staff even never open yet and same time u decide to move ur firm Vancouver to Toronto ..tell me what kind of notice u wanna send to ur clients ??if i am not wrong u gonna send them notice "dear clients we r closing for a month because we r shifting our files and our stuff to new office to provide u better service" and same CIC doing without sending notice to us , they just stop processing out application for 3 to 4 weeks because they r busy moving all application to their new processing center ...hope u can understand now how i make a guess about them 3 weeks ago .......

Hey Guys,

I got some long awaited good new today and was hoping for some info on the next step. I applied for my PR exactly a year ago. My Canadian girlfriend is sponsoring me. We both received emails in January. Hers said that she had been approved to sponsor me, and mine said that I needed to submit additional info. I sent the additional info off within a week. I received 2 emails today from CIC. The first email says that I meet the eligibility requirements for PR and a decision will be made after submitting my medical. The second email was the medical forms. One of the emails also stated that my application for a work permit has been approved (i assume this is my open work permit).

I have a couple of questions. It says on one of the emails that medicals and background info for family members are needed - if applicable. I would imagine they aren't applicable as I am the only applicant.

Another question I have is about the open work permit which has been approved. They say that I will receive this separately. Does anyone know how long it takes, and if ill receive it by mail/email?

Final Q. Can anyone recommend an emedical physician within Toronto with reasonable pricing?

Bad news guys...they just updated and it's still stuck at June 25th. Let's just hope that Harmin is right and they pick it back up next week and start speeding through them!

For medical i did mine with Dr. Richard Chan. It's on Broadview, near the subway station. Was $190 including x-ray. Got the appointment a lot quicker than what other places were quoting. In regards to OWP mine came after a week, but others have taken quite a bit longer.
