HI PONGA.... HAVE ONE QUICK QUESTION, I KNOW U CAN HELP ME WITH THIS ...ACTUALLY I FILED MY APPLICATION FROM TORONTO THROUGH A LAWYER..AFTER FILED APPLICATION I MOVE BACK TO VANCOUVER WITH MY WIFE AND WE R LIVING TOGETHER IN VANCOUVER AREA NOW ...WE ALREADY UPDATE OUR ADDRESS WITH CIC ...BUT AS I TOLD U I FILED MY APPLICATION THROUGH LAWYER AND LAWYER DEALING WITH CIC ..ALL DOCUMENTS STILL GOING TO HIS TORONTO OFFICE ADDRESS ...MY QUICK QUESTION IS ,IN THIS SITUATION WHERE I GONNA LAND ??????IN TORONTO AREA OR IN VANCOUVER ..BECAUSE IN MY ECAS MY LIVING ADDRESS VANCOUVER AND MAILING ADDRESS TORONTO :'( :'( :'(

Since we both know that the waiting time to land in Vancouver is going to be lonnnng...maybe you should consider moving back to Toronto to land, then move back to Vancouver?!?!

So we called CIC again this morning to speak with a different agent and get more information about our application (App. recvd. April 8, 2013; AOR April 17, 2013). The following is a summary of the information.
1. What is the status of our application? There are no updates online, and according to the processing times, we should have received an update already.
- CPC-V could not make a decision on the application and they forwarded it to CIC Edmonton.

2. Has the sponsor been approved?
- A decision could not be made by CPC-V

3. If the case has been transferred, when was it transferred and why didn't we receive a letter/email notifying us so?
- The case was transferred in late January 2014. A letter may have been sent and may still be in transit to us.

4. How do we obtain the reasons of why the case was transferred and how do we obtain the notes already made on the case?
- CIC representative to email us with information about how to request this information (not yet received). We can fax CIC Edmonton to request an update on our case.

5. What is the estimated remaining processing time for our application?
- It's up to CIC Edmonton.

I guess for now we will wait for the letter about the transfer and the email with the steps to request notes on our case. We will probably also fax CIC Edmonton and maybe have the MP inquire on our case as well (depending on how much information we get from CIC directly).

I will see if I can help you out with this a little bit. CIC -V transferred the entire application to Edmonton without a sponsorship decision only because they have questions regarding your relationship. Why and what questions they have you should be able to get by ordering your GCMS notes from here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp Be sure to order the 'privacy' notes as opposed to the information act, because it is your information and you do not need to spend the $5 to get it. It will take 30 days for you to get and electronic only is more than enough to find what you want to know. Have your sponsor order them because that is where the hold up is currently.

They will not give you a 'estimated' time remaining on your application simply because it was sent out of the 'normal' processing stream and no longer falls into the same category. Sadly, an MP is not likely to be able to help you with this situation either. You will need to wait for Edmonton to set up and interview date and once they have done that, they will issue AIP (if you pass their interview) and then will continue with the PR processing. I am not sure if contacting Edmonton office via email will yield you any more information, but it never hurts to try.

Does anyone know what the estimated landing time is for Winnipeg or how I could find out? I can't image it's TOO long...it's so incredibly cold, there can't be too many people wanting to live here!

Harmin, I did the same thing...listed my lawyer's address in Toronto as my mailing address, although we live in Winnipeg, which is listed as my home address. Your landing office is based off where you live, so you will land in Vancouver. I will let you know if it causes any problems, but I don't forsee any.

I haven't heard anything yet, but I did see that post! I'm hopeful that I will hear something by next week, taking in to account that those of us on the forum are only a small portion of people who applied. Thank you for the well wishes!

Singapore COC - for future reference for people needing police clearance cert from Singapore


Alright, finally got my response and tracking number from SPF.

Basically, I mailed it out from Canada on Jan 7th, and it reached Singapore January 14th. Emailed SPF on Feb 4th (Canada time), and received response from SPF Feb 5th with tracking number. COC mailed out from SG on Jan 30th. Do note that there is a Chinese New Year holidays in between.

Submitted AIP letter from CIC, along with the application form from SPF (on http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm), and draft for payment, passport photocopy, passport sized photos (2 pcs) and finger prints done at local police station.

So right now, it is all dependent on Canada Post.

Will update when I receive it.

Hope this helps anyone else who needs COC from Singapore.

BUT THEY WRONGLY ISSUED MY COC ONLY CAN USE IN AUSTRALIA ....I RECEIVED ON JAN 8TH ...I SEND THEM BACK ON JAN13 AND THEY REISSUE AGAIN AND SEND ME THROUGH REGISTERED MAIL ON 24TH JAN ...I AM STILL WAITING OF MY LETTER TO ARRIVED ...I AM TRACKING FROM PAST 5 DAYS AND ITS KEEP SHOWING EN ROUTE TO CANADA ...LAST NIGHT I CALL UP SINGAPORE POST AND ASK ABOUT IT ..THEY TOLD ME ITS GONNA TAKE 9 TO 11 WORKING DAYS ..THEN I ASK THEM HOW COME I RECEIVED MY FIRST LETTER ONLY WITH IN 7 DAYS ...SHE UNABLE TO ANSWER MY QUESTION ..NOW I AM STILL WAITING :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
