SERIOUS QUESTION HERE!

I have some debt prior to getting married, it was debt I acquired while I was single. Nonetheless, its still there and haunting me. With my husband unable to work, my debt has fallen behind recently. I'm considering a consumer proposal "financial hardship program". Would this be a problem with CIC at all?? I'm so worried it will negatively affect something within the process.

Hi Guri. Need your advise.. So I'm thinking about ordering notes for my file too. But I have no reason to do so yet, just wondering I should order them in advance so by the time I hear something from CIC, I have that extra info too. That's fine right, I'm not losing anything?

Does the request for notes leave any note on the file that I requested them? Would the VO see the request negatively?

Finally If I do decide to order them, which ones should I go for GCMS or ATIP?

Thanks in advance! :)
It won't create any delays or issues with your file. The notes will be generated within a few days when you apply but, they send them after 30 days so, when you receive them, keep in mind they are not the latest ones (probably a month old).
You would be ordering gcms notes(through sponsor) and filling out consent form ATIP (filled by applicant).
Link to order notes: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/client.do
Consent form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5744E.pdf

As long as you don't file for bankruptcy (at least until AIP, but perhaps longer), it shouldn't be an issue.

:( I really don't know, but as far as I've heard you just can't receive government money (as it would turn into a debt) ... I would think this would be ok??

No bankruptcy just consumer settlements, I'd still be paying back my debtors just at a settled amount.

I would think so too, I mean I'd still be paying back my debt just at a reduced amount to what I currently owe. I'm just petrified that it will be a black mark against the process :'( toooo muuuuuch stressssss

You have already been approved as a sponsor, so how you pay your debt is up to you, so long as it doesn't involve bankruptcy or government assistance.

This process sure takes its toll, doesn't it? :'(

Don't stress out, I have couple of debts as well and had no issues receiving DM.

She only told me the AOR date and so She guessed, but you are right... Unrealistic! I'll ask her to find out for sure. Misinformation isn't of use is it? ???
