I'm sorry but I just went to the website and it says 6 months... am I missing something? ???

Indeed, the website said 6 months until the processing times was updated. It was just updated within a couple of hours. Well, I guess it will be changed from 6 months to 10 months again. Sometimes, CIC modify it during the week.

'10 months' is annoying number. But, this number (10 months) is a realistic number. '6 months' is not true. October 12th is not 6 months ago.

And call center agents and lawyers are ALWAYS right when it comes to this stuff right James... :o :-*

Good luck and I hope your scamming of the system doesn't land you a negative decision.

I know I agree with you. 10 months it is the real number. :(
I like to think it could be 6 months but I know it is impossible. I guess I should be realistic

Sooo strange...yesterday it was showing 6 months, this morning it was 10 months, and this afternoon back to 6 months?!?! lol....are they confused or what?!?

I was saying the same thing about clearly Oct.12th is not 6 months ago...but then it was clarified today, that is probably the oldest application still being worked on. The average processing time is "supposed" to be the 6 months....

This is what a CIC officer had told me :
Just because the website is stating "working on applications received on October 12th(or whatever date) " doesnt mean that all of the officers are working on these applications and these applications only.
They can only change the date when EVERY SINGLE application received on October 12th and before is finalized and a decision is made. So it is very likely that there is one officer that is still working on an old october application and its taking him long for whatever reason. So THIS ONE application is the reason why the website is still stating october. It does NOT mean that all the other officers arent working on applications received weeks/months after the stated october date.

Hope that helps ;) its made me more optimistic for sure!

I hope so be because it hasn't changed since april

As much as I wish for the "every application must be done" thing to be true, I just popped over to the inland 2012 thread and the recent AIP's that were given out applied in July and September (27th I think) and the September applicant got theirs today.

I'm pretty convinced we still got ways to go unfortunately. -.-

As much as I'd love it if it were otherwise, ^this.

My app was received Oct 23. Straightforward case from a visa-exempt country. I haven't received AIP, and I'm not aware of anyone in the 2012 thread whose app was received after mine who has received AIP.

I'm betting that, unfortunately, 2013 apps have quite a bit of a wait yet.

So rather than the date online meaning that they have finished all applications until then it's more likely that it means that is the latest application they are working on.

Future inland applicant here 8)

Quick question for the IMM5285E Spouse Questionnaire. It asks if your currently living with your sponsor....I said yes but will that get me into trouble since I'm here as a visitor until November (which I will extend in October)

It should be just fine as long as it is still true when you send the application!

back to 10 months...

Wow.....what in the world? Are there like 2 ppl that have the job of updating and they are having an argument about the processing time?!? lol

6-10-6-10 in less than 24 hrs.......

Anyways...whoever updates it is not doing their job well...I think once we are done this process, I will apply for a job at CIC and do it PROPERLY for everyone who is counting down and waiting!!! geeeze....
