They asked for my health card, and when I said thath I don't have any since I'm not pr they looked at each other and said that in that case I have to pay 300$ to them, and 429$ to the hospital. I mean we are going to pay since we don't have any other options, just felt wierd reading other people expirience and a lot smaller prices.

A lot of places take it as ID. My podiatrist, who isn't covered by healthcare, wanted by healthcare card too. I asked before I booked my exam because I qualified for healthcare after getting married (in Alberta) and they said no, they don't take healthcare because it's not allowed. Maybe she was lying, I don't know - but no one else accepted the healthcare card either for immigration purposes.

Fees vary a lot across Canada.

Healthcare doesn't cover Immigration Exams.

It will cover additional blood tests, though. For example, if you require a Hepatitis screen, it will be covered by provincial health care.

I don't have healthcare either. This seems really dodgy...... Can you call them back and advise everyone else 'you know' (Yes, you know us!) paid less than $400 in total (doctor/xray/bloods) so can they give you a breakdown of the cost? See what they say? or maybe call another clinic in SK and ask their total cost plus breakdown - then call the first one back and ask why so much higher?
I'd be fighting $729!!!

I'm going to get my medical done here in edmonton alberta next thursday (may 23) and the fee is $400. how come yours is too expensive...

You need to sent them a response stating that you have ALREADY done the medical and send along a copy of the receipt you got from the doctor. Advise them that if you don't hear from them in 30 or 45 days you'll assume they have found your medical and another is not required. Alternatively, send it to them IN WRITING via courier (so you have evidence they received it).

CIC can (and does) lose things...

thanks... we sent off a letter today. 8)

That's scarily close to my house! Haha, wait that's the Mayfair building. My podiatrist is in that same building! :D

I used this doctor:

203-1711 4th Street S.W.,
Alberta,
T2S 1V8

www.grunberg.ca

She's a woman. She speaks several languages and she's very fast. Make sure to take cash if you use her service. She is cash only. Her staff was super nice too. Very painless. If you live near the #3 line, you can take that bus all the way to her office building.
